Service got 4 stars only because we had a large party for a bday and they short staffed the servers thus resulting in waiting for drinks longer then normal. Other than that the food was awesome (try the wings) and the atmosphere is very chill there.

They have done some work here to make the restaurant itself much nicer. Good beer selection and friendly bartenders. Got the nachos as an appetizer as well as the chicken wings. Nachos were good size for sharing. The chicken wings were okay. I got the burger for an entre. The blend they use for the beef is pretty good, they seasoned it very well. The pizza was the other entre and it was decent. The star of the meal was the truffle fries! They were near perfect and the right amount of flavor. Our waiter was also pretty good, they he gave us great service. The best part is they have a parking lot which, is good for Montclair. Price wise it is a bit high – i.e. things like fries don’t come with a burger, but again they were good. Overall I give Egan & Sons a 3.5 out of 5.

We enjoyed a delightful outdoor dinner at Egan & Sons during Christmas week. The had the heaters in the lower tables but not at the high tops. I had the angus sliders for $12 – a real bargain. My friends ordered the Cobb salad, the beet salad and a cheeseburger. Everyone was happy.

This place is typically pretty solid, but was a disaster our visit this past weekend. Waitress didn’t put in a meal, refused to acknowledge it, we eventually cancelled when 20 minutes passed and the person had just gotten full eating off everyone else’s plates. Waitress looked shocked when we cancelled it, then told us she was taking off the bill like she was doing us a favor. All of this while two bus boys will not stop hovering over our table, including bussing it as we’re trying to get out of the booth with a 1 year old. Wife was so crowded trying to get out she knocked over 3 glasses by accident.

This was my second visit. Although the seating was good and the waiter was nice, the salmon sandwich tasted frozen and overcooked. My daughter ordered their maple buffalo wings and they came out with dry chicken tenders with buffalo sauce. They also charge a 3% service fee for card payments. I hope they change up the food ingredients sooner than later!

Local Favorite for atmosphere, drinks, and fare! I prefer seating towards the middle or back as the front feels a little disconnected at times as does the outdoor patio.
