We ate at their stand during the Saturday farmers market downtown Appleton. We loved the gollash because it had great texture and flavor. The koftah had good flavor too but was a bit dry. I’ll get it in the burger form instead of on rice next time. Fabulous falafel. Very friendly and helpful staff.

I wholeheartedly suggest this place! Please have patience and a lot of time in your pocket when coming to eat here. I promise it’s worth it. He’s usually open after 3! If you’re short on time, I suggest you at the very least take some amazing homemade baklava home and, if you’re in luck, maybe some basbousa (similar texture to a chewy granola bar, but made with semolina and honey) and bold Turkish coffee.

The food is not fresh, but it is tasty. It is clearly made ahead of time, kept in plastic containers and reheated as needed. Drink selection is not great, but the hibiscus tea is very good. The proprietor is very friendly and willing to please. He loves to chat with his patrons.

I’ve eaten a good amount of Egyptian and other authentic Middle Eastern food and can say that the owner (Ismail) absolutely knows his stuff. The food was fantastic and full of flavor, the atmosphere is really chill and relaxed, and the owner himself is very personal and fun to talk to. I’d highly recommend this place if you like trying new foods or want the best lentil soup in the city.
