We came here while returning home from our trip. El Alamo is a quaint place off the main highway. Service was great and food excellent. We had the Friday special Chalupa plate. Chips and salsa also very good

Random find on the way home from Austin. Excellent Mexican food! The staff is so kind. Family-run place that understands good service. It’s no surprise they’ve been in business 50 years.

One of the best restaurants in town , the other restaurants don’t come close to the way we’re treated at Mary’s El Alamo .

This is the spot folks. Best Mexican food in Hearne. I had the cheese enchilada dinner and queso. So the “Jalapeño cheese dip” is the normal Queso blanco version of chili con queso. The salsa was perfect, had good onion garlic lime flavor without being too acidic or too sweet with the tomato. I really liked it. The enchiladas where standard white corn tortillas filled with american cheese but the chili con carne smothering them was the centerpiece of the plate. Almost like a peppery guisada style gravy it was exactly like the enchiladas I grew up eating at my neighbors house. What a great meal – I hope to come back some day.
