I really love Azteca! Gem in the heart of Poughkeepsie. I’m surprised it isn’t busier because I love the bright decor and the outside patio. It seems busier for takeout but we’ve enjoyed both. The food is delcious, well seasoned and always fresh tasting ingredients. Portion size is just right for entrees. That being said, the guacamole is super superrrr small for $13 so I’d skip that app. There are a lot of vegetarian and vegan options which I appreciate! Fresh juices and horchata are sooo much yum and a must try. We’ve also gotten to enjoy the churros, plantains and tres leches- all very delicious. It does feel like a family vibe in there, and we always feel well taken care of. The prices are on the higher side in my opinion but we keep going back bevause the quality is there! 100% worth a stop!

Delicious! Had the tlayuda and mole con pollo – they were great and very generous portions. Lovely outdoor seating in the side garden. They have homemade cakes and drinks, will try that next time!

The vegetarian options are amazing! Try the spinach & mushroom filling! The steak & milaneza tortas are outstanding too. This establishment has been up and running beautifully for over 10+ years. It keeps my family & friends coming. Chain businesses could never compare to this clean, loving business.

Went here for a graduation party, the enchiladas sauce was amazing! This place is deff worth a stop. Guacamole was delicious and so fresh. They had a hibiscus tea that the kids and adults loved. The staff is super friendly with big smiles. Great cantina!

Unique place, delicious food and knowledgeable stuff. Our server was super nice and friendly. Recommended what to get. My husband got tacos with dip and really liked them. We were served really fast. A portion of guacamole was huge! The whole atmosphere there is really interesting!

Food was fresh and delicious with lots of vegan and some gluten free options. I wish the vegan protein options were indicated if they were also gf. I probably could’ve asked since the server seemed knowledgeable, however it was late and we were in a rush. I had 3 soft tacos with spinach & mushrooms. The spinach was fresh, delicious, and perfectly cooked, not greasy. Didn’t notice many mushrooms, but that was fine. The salsas that came with it were delicious too! Good guacamole though next time I will bring my own chips since theirs are fried with non-gf items. Mango salsa was good just wish the mango was cut a little smaller – just a personal preference. Not stringy though and great flavor. The place is casual and colorful with fun artwork. No cocktails, but really fresh mango juice!
