I have lived in Athens for 4 years now, and this place is my all-time favorite!! My girlfriend, and I go here religiously every Tuesday for Taco Tuesday, but we have tried everything else on their menu, and have never been disappointed!!! Coming from South Florida I can say that this is truly authentic, and one of a kind I hope you all take the advice, and give it a try!!! It’s a family-owned and operated business and they make you feel special every time you walk through the door!!!

We loved our meal here yesterday. Great food. We had quesbirria which was wonderful and the texas fajitas which i have gotten 9 small tacos out of (including leftover lunch the next day) – so well worth the money. Since they were out of the churros, which we have heard are delicious, we were given flan unexpectedly instead – it was the most delicious flan I’ve ever had. Hope they add it to the menu!

We are visiting Athens for the first time today, knowing that it’s Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, and most of Athens population is out of town. We did basic Google search for best Mexican restaurants in Athens, and this one came up first. We couldn’t agree more! It’s very clean, food was delicious and fresh, and service was prompt and friendly. It’s a small place off the beaten path, and we were skeptical at first, but were highly impressed.

Honestly, best Mexican Restaurant in Athens – I was absolutely blown away. The wait staff is super friendly. You get free chips and salsa as well as homemade sauces.

I drove by a few times and finally decided to stop in. I fell in love with this business and their food. The food is delicious, from the simple to the more intricate dishes. If I have to be honest, whenever I think of going out, El Bajio is the first thought in my mind. Lovely restaurant, and lovely staff. I hope this business is around for many years to come!! Please stop in if you have time and give them a try, you will not regret it.
