First time trying this place, I ordered the #2 Quesadilla Al Carbon, not knowing that cheese dip was on top and it had cheese on the inside as well as cheese on top of the tortilla. A little bit of an overload on the cheese had asked if I could get a replacement since this is not what I had intended to order I thought the cheese was on the side. I was told no that they would have to charge me for another plate, so I went ahead and tried to eat it, but the cheese overloaded the meat factor which only contained a few slices of meat, which looked like it came from a flank steak that was very thin. It had a lot of fat in it. I did not eat, and out of the tortilla I only ate a few pieces of the meat. very unsatisfied with the service the waitress never came back and offered us a refill on our teas and then my husband had ordered corn tortillas with his enchilada plate. They did not bring out the corn tortillas until he was halfway done with his meal , the corn tortillas were saturated with oil to where it looked like they didn’t have enough cooking time . Overall I eat at a lot of Mexican restaurants, decided to give this place a try but never again . The waitress didn’t even tell us goodbye have a good day, nothing. Waste of money today.

First, let me say I have tried Birria Tacos at many places in San Antonio and NONE of them compared to El Bracero. Their Birria tacos were the BEST I have found so far. The meat is moist and tender and they put a good amount of cheese and the corn tortillas were perfectly fried.

Nice and clean. Furniture looks cool. Staff is nice. Food is a different story. Very, very salty. Ordered a ribeye steak medium rare. Got very well done and dried out. Wife order the tripas plates crispy. Got un-salted, soft tripas. Lunch food very off from their breakfast. Better drink plenty of water to offset the salt before eating. Also, grab a soda. Tea is pretty much lightly sugared water.

I’ve only ordered four tacos from this place ever, but my experience so far was great. I got it to go so usually I expect not to get the best looking tacos or the fattest tacos when it’s to go, but these were super fat and so hot I couldn’t eat them right away I had to let them cool down. The tortillas were fresh. Very good. Glad there close by

We love coming here on a day we just don’t feel like cooking! It’s conveniently located down the street from us! Their margaritas are delicious and even better when they are on happy hour prices! I believe the happy hour is until 7pm every day now, I’m not sure what time is starts though… they always have daily dinner specials or lunch specials. On this day we chose the Chalupa platter for $5.99!! That’s a steal, if you see my picture, I got 3 chalupas and they were all a decent size. After having a margarita and a lot of chips and salsa I could barely fit 1 and a half in me! The salsa, that comes with the chips is very very good. Has the right amount of spice in it to get you scooping for more! And of course every time we come, we’re always treated well by a nice Spanish lady who for the life of me can’t remember her name, but she wears glasses and has her hair in a bun. I think she typically takes care of the booths to the right of the restaurant near the windows that face the street, so if she sees this, thank you for taking care of us! We’ll keep coming back as long as the restaurant takes good care of us and keeps the deals and happy hours in place! Thank you

The restaurant was very clean and inviting. The decor was very impressive, with a beautiful wall mural and lovely scenes of all kinds on the back of each of the very custom looking chairs. Even though neither myself nor my guest spoke Spanish, we were able to use the menu to give the waitress our orders. The staff was very nice. The chips brought to the table were excellent. I had the chilupas and a cheese quesadilla. Both were so tasty. Well cooked and seasoned. The flour tortillas of the quesadilla was home made and amazing. I almost ordered some extra to take home. And I love a good sweet tea, and they have it. Will be going back.
