Do you ever wish you had a Mexican friend with a grandmother who would cook for you whenever you came over? Well, now you do, and you’re always invited. The only difference is our grandmother has tattoos and rides a badass Harley Davidson when she isn’t in the kitchen. We apply a similarly aggressive approach to the flavors we use. When you bite into one of our tacos, expect your taste buds to get a donkey punch. The only thing you can do is let your eyeballs roll back in ecstasy, look up at our tin ceiling, and scream, “El Cabron!”

I’m a vegetarian visiting the city and i got two veggie tacos with guacamole and cheese and they were so delicious!!! the real star of the show is the green salsa they have on the table. i could literally drink it out of a baby bottle it is so good please drench everything in it if you get the chance! highly recommend, good price too

I really enjoy eating here. It’s my favorite hidden gem. Love the decor and the ambiance. One of my favorites is their chicken nachos. The atmosphere makes me feel like I’m eating at my family’s house. Relaxed setting and I never feel rushed to leave. They accommodate you if any issues do occur as well which is appreciated.

Breakfast tacos were superb. I ordered ours without rice, and they’re made with egg, cilantro, cheese, chorizo, and beans. They’re very affordable: $15 for plenty of food, 4 breakfast tacos. Delicious salsa and tortilla.

Picked up my daughter after school and went to grab a bite to eat we decided on tacos and ended up here.. Cute little corner spot in the Lower East side With table and chairs for outdoor seating. We ordered chicken tacos and steak tacos tacos and in order of guacamole and chips. The tacos were very well seasoned and tasty the but my favorite was the chips in guacamole and the green sauce I really don’t know the name for it but we put it on our tacos we even put it on our nachos so it was pretty good I do recommend this place for a quick bite if you really don’t have any thoughts on where to eat This would be a good spot to grab a couple of tacos

This is an authentic Mexican place. The tacos are pretty good. Carnitas especially. I have a high bar for Mexican and I haven’t found a 5-star worthy taco place in NYC, so take the rating for what it is 🙂

I’ve been to El Cabron a few times now as I teach nearby at the Manny Cantor Fitness Center. I was trying to find a laid back bar or restaurant in the area and it was tougher than I expected as most places were packed. El Cabron gets a nice crowd but its not mobbed. I’m vegan so my menu choices are a little limited but I really enjoyed the guac and chips, the veggie bowl, and the Mexican rice and beans. I love that reasonably priced draft beer is available. The decor is nothing special but El Cabron has a very cozy vibe.
