El Caldero is a fantastic gem within Lawrence. The drinks are super strong, the food is flavorful the service is terrific. El Caldero hits on all the key aspects required to be a successful restaurant. Whoever is within the kitchen is a seasoned veteran, and the dishes represent a talented chief. If I could critique anything, it would be the portion sizes wish they provided a bit more food. The ox tail was incredible fall off the bone, nice and fatty, but they only provided me with three pieces.

The food was absolutely delicious (I got the Dominican spaghetti and a flan). The restaurant itself felt like a warm and welcoming space. We had a minor issue with the language barrier, but it was immediately rectified in a very timely manner.

Really good food. I was skeptical of a Dominican restaurant but really enjoyed it. I especially liked the fried rice with smoked pork and sweet plantains. Some language barriers but it is certainly authentic
