Wow! This place exceeded our expectations. We have a seafood place we love in Chicago but wanted to stay local in Aurora and El Captain was great. We had the Red Snapper and Lagostinos both were great options with great flavor. We will be back for more.

Visited for Mother’s Day! We were seated within 15 min. which is amazing for such a busy day, Allison was our server & she was phenomenal super attentive, & kind. The food was also great! Can’t wait to go back!

The food was delicious! The fajitas hit the spot and the food came out quickly. My group was the only one there, but we still had a good time and enjoyed every bite.

This restaurant offers excellent food, service and ambience. Waited to try different options on their menu prior to posting after returning a few times. Their steak and seafood options have terrific flavor. The singer has a wonderful voice that brings a great ambience to this establishment. Last night we were taken care of by Alyson who was very attentive along with the managers. Would highly recommend El Capitan restaurant in Aurora!!

Taste of food not that great, mashed potatoes were cold and bread burned like a rock. My nephew had their chicken nuggets (one bite and he was done with them) we tasted them and the oil came out of them with the first bite. Their steak was hard. We waited 40 mins for some plates and more for other plates on our table. Which sucked cause we all ate different times. We weren’t the only table who dealt with this. We did try to make reservations prior to going but their phone went straight to vm and Google didn’t even accept our reservations. We were also celebrating a Birthday and asked the waitress if they did anything special and she said yes….just so she could never do anything and never come back after she forgot to bring out a drink our table asked after waiting 15 mins for it. I wouldn’t go back. But I hope other people have a better experience than we did.

We’ve been there twice and plan to keep going. When it is busy it is also noisy. The food is different – a Mexican seafood emphasis – from the standard Mexican restaurant. Service has been very good and friendly even the night when they were very busy. Their non-Mexican choices are limited but the people thought the french fries were outstanding. Families welcome, haven’t sat at the bar yet but it looks good, too.

Good menu; Mexican theme mostly seafood. I had a very good shrimp in a mushroom sauce topped with cheese served in a pineapple bowl. Various sauces and salsas add heat. I can order it again but want to try other items too.

We wanted to check this new place out. The waitress was friendly but we had to wait about 30-45 minutes for 2 dishes. Also it was a little pricey for what we ordered. I don’t think this place will be our “go-to”.

Thought we would try out the restaurant. It was busy but still quite a few tables left. We were sat and were told someone would come serve us. We waited over 15 minutes with no acknowledgement from any staff. Tables were sat after us and waited on. After 20 minutes we left. I understand it’s busy but there’s no reason to completely ignore a table that long and then wait on newly sat customers.
