Mt. Angel’s hidden gem, El Caporal is a great little taqueria with fresh and delicious food in a clean and professional environment. There is also a drive thru which id convenient but if dining in be aware the drive thru has a very loud bell, you can skip coffee because someone driving thru will certainly wake you up. Beyond the atmosphere nuances the staff are very friendly and the food is very tasty! This last weekend was my 3rd time eating here, and each time the food has been top notch, highly recommended!

Me, My wife and Daughter had an impromptu lunch.. We saw this place while out on a drive and DANG, the food was rockin!! I ordered beef fajitas combo (SUPER FRESH) and my wife and daughter both ordered Taco Combo plates (de cabeza) and they both LOVED IT here.. their meat was fresh and those tacos were on point.. they young many working there – was SUPER friendly and the stream of people was consistent for such a little hole in the wall!.. My daughter loved the ‘fresh’ rabano’s (Raddish), the beans and rice were perfectly done!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! OH!, and their prices were MORE THAN REASONABLE! Bien Hecho mi raza del Caporal!!! Nos vemos muy pronto!

I was surprised to find this gem in Mt.Angel. I grew up in Woodburn, sampling many different Mexican restaurants throughout my time living there. El Caporal is on par with some of my favorite, quick-bite, Mexican restaurants. Prices are great. Food was fresh and flavors/textures were well balanced. Their hot sauce was wonderful. I’d highly recommend trying this place.
