Really good food. As a Caribbean person, it’s rare to find real goatmeat cooked as I am used to. Really tasted like the ‘mutton’ I grew up with in Jamaica. We also got fried cassava, stewed pork, and pulled pork. The plantain (ripe fried) was great. Passion fruit drink is something I have not had in a while, and while a bit sweet(just my taste), it was refreshing and well made. Friendly staff. My one issue was the boisterous laughing and conversation at only one table so we could barely carry on our own conversation. I understand relaxing with friends, but it’s a very small space, so conversing as if you are the only customer there was really distracting and annoying. We left with the food eventually.

Our first time stopping in and we were mind blown! The fried chicken is sooooo delicious. The pork was incredible. If you get rice on the side, def get the gravy on top. If you’re looking for somewhere with actual flavor, this is your spot. Plus, free samples! That way you’re getting something you know you’ll love. Great experience, parking is in the back btw! Delicious BBQ ribs, yellow rice and fried plantains! The staff was very accommodating, offering samples and making fresh plantains just for us. The food was delicious, the service was great and the prices were affordable. I would definitely go back.

I ordered three smoothies, five empanadas, an order of tostones, and an order of plantain and oh my goodness the food was delicious. A lot of my family lives down in Albany but this restaurant is the main reason I come down here!! They are consistent, friendly, and fresh which is so hard to find now a days! I wish I had photos of my order but it didn’t survive long enough lmao

The wife and I are here for lunch today and it was FANTASTIC! I’ve only experienced one Dominican restaurant prior which was located in Miami. I think El Caribe has them beat hands down! The service, food, and atmosphere was top notch. We will definitely be eating here again!

I tried the stewed pork with rice and peas. So good. Tried the fried cassava. It had a great crunch on the outside and still a little chew on the inside. Really like the cassava. Not pictured I tried the Cuban empanada and the guava and cheese empanada. They were delicious and the sauce that came with them were delicious also.

El Caribe has great authentic food, and a welcoming atmosphere. It is easy to decide even without knowing the menu, because the options are fresh behind the counter and they offer samples. Through their very friendly service, it’s clear that they value every customer!
