It was super crowded. They put us in a booth (folks, wife, and myself). We were right next to an 8-top with an occupied chair essentially blocking my wife and I in our seats. Glad we didn’t have to pee because we would have disturbed Hoss and his whole fam dambly. But the food was good! Chimichangas as good as any I’ve ever had. However, my ma got her food a good five minutes after everone else at our table. The bar is super bright, but there weren’t enough TVs for my folks to really see the UK basketball game without craning their necks. Look: I ain’t mad, and we were there at a super busy time, so I get it. I would totally go there again if it weren’t so crowded.

Our server (male) was amazing! food is always great but there is a female server who hovers over u when she cashes you out, we’ve had her before, and when writing tips she stands over u and she huffed and puffed because we put a 15 percent tip instead of the normal 22+ because of that exact reason. It wasn’t even hers! But that’s the thing, she is ruining it for everyone else. They need to let her know how rude that is cuz our excellent server almost got stiffed over her annoying, obvious pressure while she stares so closely at every move ur pen makes. Plus she looks miserable like she dreads to even be there.

Usually eat at El Charo at least a couple times a year when visiting from out of town and normally with a group of 10 or more. Best mexican food in Somerset IMHO, great margaritas, typically good, fast service. This last visit we were there after graduation and though we were done before closing there were 5 employees sitting/standing close to our table staring at us like they wanted us to leave though there were still others there also…I found this pretty rude to be honest.

This place is so good I came back the next day. The salsa is such an important part of a Mexican restaurant for me and this place does not miss. It’s truly perfect salsa. The quesabirria tacos are SUPERB. Cannot recommend this place enough.
