The one thing that has me still coming here is the beef and potato empanada but I’m pretty disappointed with just about everything else I’ve ever had. The tostones were super old, super dry and not crispy at all. There’s not really more to say except that there’s way better Spanish food out there (one place is actually only a few blocks away) for a lot cheaper.

Worst Spanish food on grand Ave . Maybe cause the owners are not have nothing to do with the culture.

Real Puerto Rican Food made by real PR people, love that they even have Helado de Coco, some that’s hard to get and it was delicious .

Customer service was good. The food was not. The chicken lacked flavor and color. The rice was too mushy and lacked flavor. And the Maduros/plantains tasted old/rotten, and was hard. I don’t recommend go else where in the city. I gave 2 stars because of service but really it was a 1. Not worth it for $13.

My family have throughly enjoyed this wonderful sit- down and takeout restaurant for years! However, I am writing this review now after our latest take out order because I just came to realize that the last year or so when all restaurants have suffered due to Covid El Coqui persevered!
