We chose this spot based on reviews. Outstanding all the way around. The menu was colorful and pro all the way .The food was absolutely delicious. I know because I’m from Houston. …where texmex is king.

Wow, we are up in Mt. Ida on vacation from Texas, and wanted some good food. We were blown away by the flavors, the service and the value! I wish this place was home in Austin – 5 stars for everything- see ya next year!

My mother lives in Mt Ida and we frequent this restaurant when we are there. I love the freshness of the food and especially the tender white chicken breast meat they use on many of their chicken dishes. I’ve never seen anything like the El Diamante Nachos- chicken- and I can’t always finish it but I crave it! Unbelievable goodness with fresh guacamole and all the other goodness on top. Best fresh salsa too! Love this place! A Mt Ida gem!

We were here in 2017 after doing a crystal dig in Mt. Ida, and I’m still thinking about how great our experience was. I just ran across an old flyer that made me check to see if I’d ever left a review, because I wanted to. So here you go, better late than never: first, the place was just so visually fun! That was my first impression. Second, the owner (or manager?) who as I recall had a cast or something on his leg, was just amazingly nice and welcoming. Third, oh my God the food! Great to look at and so delicious we’ve talked about driving back from South Central Texas just to eat there again! We were in town for a short time, but did manage to enjoy eating there twice! Our first meal was a cheeseburger, which was amazing and unexpected at a Mexican restaurant. Our second meal was Mexican food and better than most, and I’ve had a lot living in Texas. I highly recommend you treat yourself to an excellent, memorable meal if you’re anywhere near here!

It was okay. They had some cute benches outside that we sat at since it was such a beautiful day. The rice was cheaply made and lacked real authentic flavor. The beans and cheese dip were so wonderfully creamy. Their chips are thin but crispy. Employees were mostly inexperienced but had some initiative which I appreciated.

It’s not real Mexican food, but their American options were good and their Shrimp quesadillas were amazing. Stay away from the tamales if you know what a real Mexican tamal looks and tastes like, you’ll be disappointed. Cheese sauce was more like melted Velveeta, yuck! Service was great though. Out waitress was on the ball! The place is not elegant or super clean but it does give you the Mexican atmosphere.

This is an excellent Mexican restaurant in the heart of Mt. Ida. I have many years experience with Mexican restaurants around the USA and border towns in Mexico. I must say that this is one of the best ever. The prices are reasonable and the staff are very friendly. Put El Diamante on your must visit list!

Stopped in for lunch last week (3/14/23), and was pleasantly surprised. Really fun decor, and surprisingly good Mexican food despite being in deeply rural Arkansas, and great customer service by the waitresses. It was a very pleasant meal all around!
