They turned a disappointing experience into a 5 star review and a repeat customer with kindness. I don’t know what the universe has against me personally, but every time we order out for our family, something goes wrong with MY part of the order. In this case, my entire plate was forgotten. I called upset because it’s a 13-15 min drive to their restaurant. I headed back to pick up the missing part of my order, and they apologized sincerely. When I got home, I opened my food to discover that my 2 taco plate had turned into a 3 taco plate. And the tacos were stuffed to the brim with meat. There was no negotiation about “how can we make this right”. They just took action. They win. Everyone loved the food. And knowing that when mistakes happen, as they inevitably do, they have my back is everything. This is quiet, dignified honor. They just became the ONLY Mexican restaurant in town. Mucho gusto.

This place has a great atmosphere, outdoor seating and the best salsa bar I’ve seen in the area! Unfortunately, my husband and I can’t really eat much here as vegetarians and vegans. Their vegetarian burrito is not actually vegetarian as the rice is made with chicken stock. Would absolutely love if they offered a vegan rice option!

Hands down my favorite Mexican taqueria in the Grass Valley/Nevada City area. I always judge a Mexican joint based on their salsa. Well, this salsa bar does not disappoint! Amazing salsa verde long with some delectable pickled veggies and a handful of other salsas. I hope they don’t change a thing about it!

So my experience did not start well. Google put this location above the location that I usually call in my order to, which is closer! The description did not include the address in my view. So I ordered from the wrong location again because Google put the location that was farther away ahead of the closest location! Though annoying…I went to the other location a few miles away.

El Favorito offers many items on there menu, including plenty of different meat (protein) options. They also were able to make a custom burrito based on the ingredients I wanted! Staff was courteous, restaurant was clean and they had a great selection of salsa!

Ordered a taco bar for 25 people for a party April 30. I worked with the manager via text to make sure everything was set. We showed up at the scheduled time to pick up our order and we’re told they needed a couple mins. That turned into more then a 40 min delay. I didn’t receive chips or salsa for my 30 guests. A $400 order and they never even got back to me after the fact when I texted to apologize for the excessive delay or missing food. Don’t bother with this place! Go to Maria’s. I wish I had ordered catering through them. Never ever El Favorito again. If only they had messaged me back they could’ve avoided the one star review.
