A memorably delicious meal. The chilaquilles with scrambled eggs, chicken and green salsa were some of the best I have ever had. The rice was also nice and fluffy and the beans were flavorful.

Crap, save your time and money! Not only was the service horrible, but the food as well. We both took two bites and said no way. We both got the slow roasted pork in citrus, well it tasted burnt and like it had been in a crock pot for a few months. The chips had seen their better days, the only thing we ended up paying for was the nachos, which was served with some chicken from a bag and cheese from a can. Whoever was the manager came over and asked why we didn’t like it. She told us that we must not of read the menu. We did not even pay for this crap. Whoever is giving five stars either runs, owns, or works in this place. If i could rate a on a negative scale it would be -4.98 my pop was cold that is about it.

The customer service was great, however it was overpriced for the little amount of food you are getting and the flavors were mediocre. The online menu has very different pricing from the actual menu and the menu does not list what is excluded from the specials, so I ended up paying full price for what should have been a “deal.” Also, with every Mexican restaurant you visit, the chips and salsa are included at no cost to the customer, however, no one had advised that the chips and salsa were not free of charge. They were just brought out to us and charged over $5 for chips and salsa. It’s not like I wouldn’t have paid for them, but it would have been nice to know ahead and time and to be able to make the decision for ourselves. When the bill came, a meal that should have been no more than $30, turned out to be $60.

We started with the Guacamole – fresh, tasty and almost perfect. Their chips are a bit thicker and also freshly done – so that was a plus. Did not care for the Rojo salsa that came with the chips (had a hint of smoky taste) but the server quickly replaced it with Verde and wow, truly amazing with a lot of flavor and a nice bite. My sister had the Enchilada’s Mole – Shrimp, large shrimp and the mole had excellent flavor. I had the Fajita Burrito (combo) – enchilada style with Verde. Yum yum. The steak was a little well done on the inside but everything else was wonderful. Definitely a hidden gem in Oak Creek and very close in quality/ethnicity to some of the south side places we normally visit. A must try. Prices are pretty standard – so affordable on top of it all.

Great food, great prices. The only downside is that it isn’t the largest place and the seating area is more like a cheap cafeteria than a nicer sit down restaurant. The food makes up for a lot. The decor is nice enough but don’t expect it to be a “high-end” experience. It’s good food on a budget.

Just came from this restaurant. I cannot recommend anything good about this place. The host was put out because I was a table of one and did not want to sit at the bar. He said to me that they didn’t have any tables as I’m looking at a 4 top. He then turned and said” I guess I’ll have to separate these 2 tables. On a recommendation I tried the taco Tuesday special. The tacos were so dry I needed to order source cream with them. I had to go get my own silverware and napkin from the bar. Ended up going to a gas station after to get something to drink. My waiter never came and asked if I needed a refill. I’ll never be back.

LOVE the food LOVE the employees. I work in Oak Creek and i found this place about 2 years ago and have been going back ever since. The owners are very friendly and the food is the best. I love Mexican food and this is by far the best place i have ever found. I have some places near my house but none are nearly as good as El Fongon. I go at least 3 times a month, so yummy!

Complementary chips and salsa was not an enjoyable experience, as it was less of a salsa and more of a hot sauce with watery texture. Wild berry Margarita was good, lime was sour and strong. Shrimp crema was delicious, and the chicken burrito was decent. Service was nice but slow. I will come back
