I love Peruvian food, so I decided to give El Gordo a try. I ordered through Uber Eats. Their arroz chaufa is just disappointing. The price is a bit high but I don’t mind it, I just wanted something good. Definitely don’t recommend their chaufa.

The people are very friendly and the food is delicious. I had a half Roasted chicken with fried rice along with the green sauce which is to die for. I’m an onion lover so the cashier gave me a mixture of red onion, tomato, and cilantro. Ot was heaven. Plus, you get your money’s worth. It’s a family environment type restaurant which you can listen to music and enjoy family time or date night. It’s clean, welcoming, and not too expensive. There non alcohol drinks is a .use have. Writing this making me hungry for it .

I always get the 1/2 chicken and 2 sides and the quality is outstanding. This time, however, they went above and beyond. Delivery order got messed up, which happens. But the owner Liz was so flexible and polite during what was a very busy dinner rush for them that I can’t help but write this review. We can to a solution together and we got our correct items. Consistently great food here. The rotisserie chicken is the standout star here but the traditional Seco Norteño and Lomo saltado are amazing. Also the colada morada juice is a tasty treat. I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic Peruvian food. 5 stars all the way!

I am OBSESSED with El Gordo restaurant in Union Township. My family and I go there all the time, it never disappoints, the food is always amazing, and the atmosphere is so family-like, I love it!! If you haven’t gone yet, run and get the Lomo Saltado with green sauce on top, yummy!!!
