The first time I met here was for take-out (a huarache) and when we saw it and ate it we decided to come back the next day. The best! We finally found a place that actually tastes like real Mexican food. The place is small so it fills up very fast. I recommend it, the only thing I didn’t like was that the birria doesn’t include tortillas and each tortilla is $1 dollar. I really felt in a Mexican local.

Finally! authentic Mexican food! Being from Los Angeles, I have been missing food like this the last 8.5 years I have lived here. El Huarache was beautiful inside, minimal decor, very clean and spacious. The bathrooms were clean as well. I loved the vibe and the service was great! I’m so confident I can order anything off the menu and thoroughly enjoy it.

For sure some of the best authentic mexican food in Durham. Clean, friendly and quick service. The real reason to come here is for the flavors.. this place could be a dump and I would still come back for the taste. Give them a try!

Next to the highway so weren’t too sure. Entire menu in Latino, but cashier walked us through recommendations. Place is very clean. Prices were consistent with a dine in restaurant and food trucks, and serving size was above average. Food? Wow…found a gem, more like comfort food.

My food was freshly prepared and hot. It took awhile for my tacos to cool down. Not a bad thing! Delicious flavor, perfectly meaty and savory. My food tasted like it was crafted with love. I will go back to try more from the menu. Very reasonable prices, perfect portions.

This was the second time we try this restaurant. The guy taking our order was very nice and answered all of our questions. The food was delicious and we were surprised to know that the Tortillas were made fresh per order. We drove 2 hours to come eat here again. We highly recommend this place!!
