When in Tyler, TX this is the place for tacos! The tacos are top notch. So, much flavor and freshness. Top them with a bit of their house made sauce for an added touch! I had the enchiladas and let me tell you, they were amazing! My husband had the Carne asada, which he enjoyed, but he wanted more of my enchiladas. The chicken is cooked in a Roja sauce that is out of this world. I will definitely be stopping in to try other menu options when I am in the area. Hands down, everything we tried had such great flavor and left me wanting another bit.

The service is always great. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu on separate visits and everything tastes great each time, very very welcoming environment with great authentic food. The only downside is it’s cash or cashapp only and they close early.

The wife and I stopped in after a round of golf @Pine Springs. Had the enchilada plate and the wife had the taco plate. Both were awesome even though they garnished them different than what we are use to. Very delicious. We both ate with a drink and was 24$!!!! Great value!

The food was amazing! Best barbacoa in town ! The reason I didn’t put 5 stars is because first of all it’s to hot in there they really need some A/C . You’re literally eating a hot spicy soup with no A/C during the summer . I can only imagine if you’re hungover and last issue I had is they don’t accept debit ,credit , Zelle only cash ! Like bro we in 2023 ♂️… good luck finding a ATM but anyway the food makes up for it !

I’m not the fan of Mexican food. But for my niece bday she wanted Mexican. I chose this place based on reviews. Way better than rating than any big chain restaurants. Super friendly staff, most excellent real authentic Mexican food and affordable prices. Take the time to vist this little family restaurant you be surprised.

Amazing food. Extremely fresh and tasted much better than anything I can typically get in Mississippi. We got a chicken quesadilla, beef burrito and the platillo de birria de chivo. Plenty of food for the money as well.

We were in Tyler for the day and wanted tacos for lunch. Im glad we stopped by. El Jilo has the best real Mexican food by far. Authentic, homemade like your family makes. I never buy menudo unless it’s recommended to me but after seeing 3 people eating menudo, I ordered it to go. The best menudo Ive had from a restaurant. When in Tyler, stop here to eat. It’ a family run restaurant and staff are all very friendly.

First time eating here. We ordered but didn’t have cash and they don’t take cards. The young man offered us to pay them the next time we came in. I was amazed. Made me really feel good that there are still nice people like this. We really appreciated the gesture but went to the ATM for cash. The food is really good too. I highly recommend stopping by for a bite to eat. We are going to eat there again.
