Wife and I thought we’d found another Mexican restaurant we could go to, that’s not the case this time. We went in for dinner and upon coming in all these tables had what remained of other people’s meals, not a big deal understand people get busy. There was only a handful of people in the restaurant so we thought I guess this was something that we just missed rush of some sort. Well we sat down and eventually a waitress came by she took our order then she promptly went over and started talking to some of her friends that had come in. They were chatting away and she never took our order to the front. We sat there for like 5 minutes watching her talk to her friends and then another waitress came up and she said she would be our waitress. We told her that somebody had already come by taking our order but she was standing there talking to her friends. She said oh no she’s not even working she says. Okay meanwhile the other waitress is still chatting with her friends none of the tables are cleaned off. Well our food eventually arrived and it was barely edible. The food was overcooked to dry and really unpalatable. Seriously doubt will be back. To the credit of the waitress when we brought the food issue to her attention she did give my wife’s meal for free. It truly was hard to eat. And they weren’t busy seriously not busy.

The service was beyond great. I had grilled chicken, rice and beans platter (pollo loco). It was delicious and the guacamole was amazing. Everyone has their own taste for salsa. This salsa was a bit bland for me. I requested the hottest salsa and mixed them. Definitely give it a try with great service and fresh tasting food you will not be disappointed!

Our new goto Mexican restaurant, delicious food, good service and great prices. We will definitely be returning. And check out this 88oz Margarita monstrosity, split between 2 ppl we got a dozen glasses out of it and sooo good and yes we did finish it, you’ll want to have your DD available lol

This is typical southern style Mexican food, as someone from the south western United States this is not authentic Mexican food. The salsa is like tomato sauce. The “original”margarita tower was really sweet and almost bubbly. My taco salad was the size of a toddlers baseball cap, I had to order an additional taco just to fill myself up and I’m a small person. The locals seem to love this place, but my search for some authentic Mexican cuisine in Cookeville continues.

Service was good. But my taco salad with just beef and cheese turned out to be more of a soup due to the amount of grease. Cheese sauce and salsa was nothing fantastic. We won’t be back, but hopefully others enjoy it.
