Don’t come here, makes sense why the building had zero customers other than us, the food wasn’t fresh, when you look over towards the bar area, staff members are oddly staring at you and I’m sure talking about you, uncomfortable and the attitude of the host/server

It has been my experience since the early 90’s that El Maguey stores reliably offer good Mexican-style entrees at a reasonable price whether in Paducah, Kentucky or in Columbia, Missouri. This site in St. Louis is no different. The food was good as was the service. I often find that Mexican restaurants over salt their dishes. A tip, I prefer minimal salt on my food so I make a point of bringing that to the attention of my server.

The food and service was horrible. The service was the worst experience I’ve ever had. The server completely messed up our order several times and spilt a drink on my 3 year old child. Not to mention the food was disgusting and every single item we ordered was messed up. Other people eating in the restaurant had the same issue with the quality of service and food. The table behind us got up and left without even touching their food because it took so long to get their order then when they got their order, it was nothing they even ordered. 0/10 recommend.

I came here today in an effort to have this restaurant redeem itself because last time i was here i was treated rudely and the staff was negligent… I won’t be back. This time my meal was infiltrated by a fly and instead of them replacing my meal or offering a discount… they took my plate brought my receipt and told me i was done eating… which i clearly wasn’t. But I’m done spending my dollars in establishments that don’t respect me and my hard earned money.

I had a very good experience at this restaurant. It was actually my very first time eating there. We were there celebrating my mother’s birthday. Everything looked and smelled amazing! You’ll see from my photos that the decor is very unique and welcoming and endearing. Also, the restroom was clean! They get extra kudos, from me, for having a good, clean restroom. The reason why I only gave them four stars as opposed to five it’s because I am a pescatarian. And they did have a dish for me to eat: I had fish tacos! My only gripe, though, was that I wanted salmon and not tilapia. I’m not really a fan of tilapia. However, tilapia was the only fish that they had and I was forced to consume that. It didn’t taste bad. Not by any stretch of the imagination. I’m just not a fan of tilapia. But, the server was quite nice. I can’t remember his name, now. However, he was very friendly and affable.
