I’ve noticed most of the low reviews were made by very petty, entitled people who complain about social distancing guidelines and quality of service. Some of you people are acting like it’s an upscale 5-star restaurant in downtown Chicago or something. Y’all really need to grow up. If you want good service, go to the city and have fun paying upwards of $20 per plate. This place is ran by honest, hard-working people and they make some of the best Mexican food in Wauconda for a very reasonable price. Easily one of my favorite places in town.

The place was absolutely phenomenal. I go out to eat 6 times out of the week, many different locations and this is now the place I will be making my regular place to eat Mexican food. The owner cooks the food comes to see you at your table to see if you need anything else. The waitresses are all positive energy. The are excellent servers. The tequila is well stocked withe great choices. Very clean and spacious. I recommend this place. Truly authentic Mexican food. Me being 100% Mexican I know what is authentic.

We have lived in Wauconda for many years, yet always drive 35 minutes west to Woodstock in order to enjoy our favorite Mexican restaurant. However, Sunday evening, on the recommendation of our niece, my husband and I tried our local Mexican restaurant, El Manantial with family in from out of town. What a hidden gem this restaurant turned out to be! I am so glad to know we have a delicious restaurant serving authentic Mexican cuisine that is a 10 minute walk from our home. Our server was great; friendly, knowledgeable, helpful – without being overbearing or “too much”. The chips and salsa were some of the best we’ve had – made fresh for each table. The margaritas were delicious. I never worry as much about the brand of tequila as I do about the mix that is used. These were so tasty – not too sweet nor too tart – I felt they were a perfect balance. With the drinks, fresh chips and salsa, they already had my husband and I returning, however, the entrees sealed the deal. Fresh, hot, great presentation and wonderful tasting food. There were five of us and we all tried each other’s plates. It seemed each one was better than the last. I do not consider it necessary for the quantity of food to be enormous – I’d rather have quality over quantity – but the portion sizes seemed just about right for someone who goes there very hungry. In our case, we did bring home about half our entrees because we so enjoyed the drinks, chips and salsa beforehand. There is a definite return trip for us to this restaurant in the very near future!

We have eaten here a number of times. The service is friendly and fast, the staff is happy to make vegetarian versions of the menu items, and, the food is then quite good. Oh, did I mention the bar service is beyond compare? Well made Margaritas, and a number of beer choices, as well as being able to provide for those who choose non-alcoholic beverages. This is a well deserved five-star establishment.
