Since the Lynchburg location has opened, I’ve eaten here 5+ times. The food is absolutely delicious and fresh every time I go. The service is fast and they are always polite. They also have a cafe next door and the breakfast is very good. I would highly recommend you try them out over any other Mexican restaurant in the burg.

Good atmosphere, very friendly and attentive staff. The beef has a lot of grease, it doesn’t affect the taste but it will drain like NY pizza if you’re eating a burrito or taco. This spot could beat out El Jefe’s.

We had a wonderful visit to El Mariachi! The restaurant staff were so friendly and very attentive! We enjoyed sitting on the patio outside during a late summer evening with the string lights while sipping on a margarita. The food was excellent and so so fresh! (Highly recommend the chicken fajitas!) I’m so glad downtown Lynchburg has such a great Mexican restaurant option. We will definitely be coming back!

With a really awesome Mexican/tequila restaurant just a couple blocks away, they need to step up their game! Stopped in for Margarita Monday.

El Mariachi in Downtown Lynchburg opened in August 2023, open daily 7 am to 2 pm. It is in the location of the Dublin Coffee House off of Jefferson Street. The restaurant serves breakfast food and has a full espresso bar. The service is good and the staff are attentive. The atmosphere is chill and it would be a good study spot to have a burrito and a cup of coffee.

Delicious! It’s new to downtown Lynchburg, so we wanted to check it out. Glad we did! Very fresh, carefully crafted food. Generous portions at a reasonable price. Fresh made salsa among the best I’ve had anywhere. Huge menu with some unique choices.

My experience was just ok. The server wasn’t very knowledgeable about the menu, types of tamale flavors, best drinks, etc. I tried some of everything. The flavors were pretty traditional and what im used to when visiting mexico or being at home with my family, but the textures were all wrong. The tamale was pretty dry, seemed frozen and heated up, and it was all masa. The meat was ground beef and put on top of the tamale, not sure if there was actually anything on inside…I also got tacos and tostadas. They were both drenched in cheese sauce (top and bottom) and they were so soggy to the touch I really couldn’t even pick them up. I love cheese sauce, but I could barely eat these 🙁 the guacamole “appetizer” is a silver dollar sized “bowl” of guacamole for $5. Pros are the margaritas and salsa were out of this world. Best, freshest salsa I’ve had since TJ. This place needs to take it easy on the cheese sauce and up the server knowledge a bit. Coming back for chips and salsa and drinks.
