Our server was Wendy and it was her second day, she did a great job and our orders were perfect. The manager even made rounds to confirm everything and to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. We love stopping and eating here when we get the chance the food is AWESOME and service is always fast. I had the Steak & Chicken Happy Plate, my sister had just the Chicken Happy Plate, Dad had the Mexican City Combo it looked so great that I will be trying that next time! Lastly Mom had the Smothered Chicken without mushroom sauce. Also the Large Guacamole is so fine! We had that as the appetizer and it was plenty for all 4 of us! Great service, portions and food! Come check this place out.

Came here a few times during my trip in Louisiana and I thoroughly enjoyed it. You can tell El Mejor was a local favorite just by how packed it was every time I drove by it. Food was delicious and you get served A LOT of it. You will definitely be headed home satisfied after a meal here.

We were visiting for the weekend from New Orleans and this is the best Mexican food I have ever eaten. The shrimp fajitas were delicious. The waiter was great. The only complaint is they overcharged for the Margarita because I asked them to add amaretto and they charged me for two drinks instead of one.

When traveling to or from St. Francisville, I recommend stopping at El Mejor Mexican bar & grill on hwy 61 just south of town. We were greeted and welcomed to the restaurant. The waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and made good recommendations. I had the Enchilada plate, and she had tacos & added shrimp..

Quaint atmosphere, large portions, excellent taste. Hidden jewel. Smothered chicken was awesome. Taco salad was well built. Service was friendly and prompt. Helpful suggestions – they were very accommodating to special requests.
