The service is great, unfortunately the place is too small for large groups. First of all, we had to wait to be seated and also waited more than 20 minutes to get food. My husband and I both ordered two beef fajitas, his fajitas were good but mine were almost burnt with a bitter taste. After complaining, the waitress brought me a much better one. One friend got the wrong order too.The chips and salsa were good, but not the queso. I suggest don’t come during the busy hours.

The restaurant was not full and our waitress seemed irritated the second we were seated at her table. We ordered iced tea for our drinks she brought us what looked like just dirty water. See the picture. The waitress seemed even more irritated that I asked for a new iced tea. The whole experience was just very bland. The only time she was okay was when we checked out.

First time visiting and our expectations were fairly low since we’re in OK but WOW were we surprised!! The food was incredible!! I figured it would be bland and tasteless like so many Mexican restaurants that are in small towns can be. Our dinners had some serious heat and very flavorful! They started us off with chips, salsa and queso which was a nice treat. We had the Papa Poblano and the Bistec with Camarón. Excellent and huge portions. Perfect service too. Attentive, fast and we never had to wait for anything. We will be regulars for sure. This place is hopping so come early

Stellar! Always good! Just went on a VERY busy Friday night and service and food was amazing! Kudos for the great service on a busy evening. I have tried a fairly large cross section of this menu and it has yet to disappoint. Make the drive from Guthrie when I went good Mexican food. Keep it up!

Just not the same place it was a few years back. I’m not sure if it’s new owners or not but after my experience today, I will not be back. I used to tell people it was the best Mexican food in Oklahoma. I know things are expensive these days but $20 for lunch with an ice tea is a bit much anywhere.

Lunch at El Mexicano was awesome today! The food is great and the decor is very unique. Server suggested the Godfather – chicken fajita meat cooked with onions, bell peppers and pico de gallo in garlic butter and topped with melted Monterey Jack cheese. Or, try the Pescado a la Mexicana – Fish fillet cooked in lemon garlic butter and topped with shrimp, sauteed onions, jalapenos and tomatoes. Served with Spanish rice, refried beans and sliced avocados. Next time you’re driving through Perkins don’t miss this place!!
