We went to El Monarca because we have heard great things. We thought it was just ok. We got a birra taco, a scope and burrito enchilada style. The taco was good but didn’t have the flavour of most and the ground beef in the other two items was very bland. Service and speed was great.

I don’t know what a birria is, or how to pronounce it, but the server pointed at it and said it’s good. I got it, and it was the best taco type thing I’ve ever had! It comes with some dip that was amazing, I put some on my rice and it made me actually want to eat my rice! Usually I only touch it if I didn’t get enough food. It’s so good I got one to go! We’ll come here from Branson just for those sometime soon.

El Monarca is my favorite restaurant in San Miguel. The food is generous, excellent and modestly priced. The whole staff are so warm and welcoming and there is live music every night. The intimate space makes it easy to meet new people. It has become my home away from home.

I don’t like Mexican food. But this place! Took their time making the food! It was so tasty it earned the spot as the go to family spot! I tell everyone about this place! I highly recommend their house drinks! Horchata, hibiscus drink! The server took his time explaining about certain dishes, and made amazing recommendations!

This place makes me happy! My family had a great dinner in the new location last night. Be sure to try the chori-cheese dip, it is amazing! Excellent quality, their fajita meat is seasoned nicely with tons of flavor, and the service was great too
