Pozole is effing good! It’s my go to place, and probably only go to place in all of Pittsburgh for it. No frills restaurant (sometimes don’t have items on menu), but for the Mexican homies I’ve seen kareoke and byob, and it gets happening….but don’t recommend if you’re not used to it, think dive restaurant, and not the hipster kind.

We order from here all the time. Favorite place for authentic Mexican food. Loved the vegetarian enchiladas. This time when we ordered, we were served raw vegetables, including potatoes and carrots, wrapped in tortillas instead of the usual fajita vegetables.

I was really hoping to finally find a decent Mexican restaurant in Pittsburgh, and this had promise. But it was ultimately very, very disappointing. The tacos were tendony, the beans were cold, and the shrimp tasted like it has been refrigerated for two weeks.

Part of The Gary & Nate Taco Tour Pittsburgh. Spartan, seemingly authentic, Ma & Pa Mexican restaurant at the curve on Beechview.

Food was ok, very dry chicken but pork was not bad. Oddly expensive since it’s not a fancy place. Wasn’t very friendly or welcoming to tourists, gave the vibe that they didn’t really want us there. We ordered a few things and by far the best (and cheapest) thing is the tacos.

They didn’t have any mild salsa. The two types of salsa were both spicy. They didn’t have any diet soda options. The music was too loud. We could barely hear each other talking. The server never came to check on us at all and she wasn’t that friendly. The rice and beans were cold. The other food was just ok.

They were soo bad and service was terrible food was also no good Not trying to be mean but place needed to be cleaned and better kept tables were cleaned with dirty rags and you can tell from the smell…I’m Mexican and don’t like putting down anyone trying to make a better life for themselves but bad is bad

Put in a pick up order on a Saturday night around 8:45. When we arrived to get our food we were told that the kitchen closed at 9:00, which it didn’t say on the website and was surprising considering they were open until 2am. On top of that, they claimed they never got our order. Glad I saved the receipt, because they didn’t believe us until I showed them the order number. While we eventually got a refund, they didn’t reimburse the tip or “convenience fee.” Great way to do business.

Laid back small spot perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. Food was so good! Loved the salsa, so spicy. Had enchiladas and they were authentic! Only problem I had was that I felt so sick for the next 7 days after eating here. This place was the only unique thing I ate in 6 days leading up to it. My stomach can be sensitive at times but I honestly felt awful, reason for me rating only 3 stars. My bf had the same thing I had, he ate his whole plate and I only ate 1 1/2 of the enchiladas and he felt fine, no sickness. He did not have the creme on his however. I will eventually go back there one day but I am probably going to wait a year lol prices of the decent, a entree is $14. PS: THE RICE IS TO DIE FORRR!!
