This was our first time going to El Palmar and we’re pleasantly surprised for our first time. The kids meals were a bit small, leaving our kids a bit hungry after eating. Next time, we’d probably not bring them.

Food was absolutely amazing. The vegetables were cooked to perfection crunchy not too soft. Really good meat quality well seasoned and cooked well. Super authentic and great customer service. 10/10 my family and I will definitely be coming back.

Zero of five stars here. Greeter and server were the same. I ordered a bowl of Chili Verde and perhaps to my advantage I was given the lunch special with rice and refried beans. The Chili Verde looked like a cat threw up on the plate. It was nowhere near good pork either. See the photo included because I found out where most of it ended up, in the bathroom. It wasn’t me that left the mess. It appeared like vomit all over the floor and it had been there for some time because as in the photo there was no toilet paper on either holder. The Taco special was two street tacos with parsley all over them which I don’t like. The refried beans seemed watered down and not as brown as most other places. If you must eat here, don’t use the men’s restroom.

This was the best Mexican food I’ve ever had in Davis County! The tortillas were homemade and melted in my mouth. The meat was well cooked and flavorful. The restaraunt was clean and the server was attentive and friendly. If you are looking for ground beef tacos with shredded cheddar cheese, this is not the place for you! This is authentic and fresh!

The service was excellent in this establishment. Food was good needed a little more seasoning. We ordered there flautas and enchilada dinners. Also an order of guacamole.

I had the opportunity to order take-out from El Palmar, a Mexican restaurant located in Syracuse. Regrettably, the overall experience fell considerably short of my expectations, particularly in regard to the highly acclaimed molcajete dish, which ultimately proved to be a profound disappointment. Allow me to elaborate on the factors that have compelled me to express this unfavorable critique:

Restaurant is clean, waitress was nice but the food is NOT good. Go to other local Mexican restaurants in the area. The enchiladas are smaller than a taquito and the enchilada sauce had a very off taste. My sauce had a sour tang and my wife’s chimichanga was so bland even though it was stuffed with rice, beans, cheeses and chicken you couldn’t taste any of it. Even my beans and rice tasted like nothing no seasonings. Save your money, avoid this place.

Finally stopped in and gave this local restaurant a try. Did not disappoint at all food is made fresh to order. My wife ordered the chicken fajitas which is enough for two people comes with rice and beans, homemade corn tortillas, guacamole salsa and sour cream. I ordered the El pastor tacos comes in an order of three with rice and beans. Service was excellent We were sat pretty quickly and offered a refill on our chips and salsa. Give them a try!

This was our first time trying this restaurant. The chips, salsa and flautas were really good. I am kinda shocked this place doesn’t have higher ratings. The food is good and the prices are even better. We are super picky when it comes to where we eat out. We will be back to eat at this place again for sure!
