El Patio is a nice small town Tex-Mex restaurant, one of several in a town with a large Hispanic population. Good food. Friendly service. And pretty impressive individually painted tables and chairs with scenes evocative of Mexico. Staff is limited, so service can sometimes be a little slow, and occasionally one or more menu items might not be available. But you’ll always get a tasty meal at a very reasonable price. Ironically, El Patio does not have a patio: indoor service only.

This is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant to eat at! The Chile relleno dinner is my go to every single time! Tacos Al pastor are delicious too. Worth the drive from Davenport for sure

Great authentic local Mexican. West Liberty has a strong latenex community and they are very proud of serving amazing Mexican food. This place is very family, very basic, very affordable and very good! Try the Hot Fajitas if you like spice! Don’t forget to end with the fried ice cream if you like sweet!

Went there for dinner on a slow Thursday night. Wait staff wasn’t paying attention. My food (Carne Asada) was fair, meat was dry, nothing special. The place was dirty, the bathroom had no paper towels, windows were streaky, the outside looks shabby. My chair was missing a glide so it was very tippy. Last time I was there it was in better shape and my meal was good and I had very good service. I was disappointed.

Salsa was excellent. The chicken is juicy & flavorful. Weak margaritas, they tasted like straight mixer. The beef is meh.

Amazing food, way better than any of the other Mexican restaurants in the area. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Plus the chips and salsa are delicious and worth the drive from Iowa City alone.

Best homemade Strawberry Margaritas! I’m not sure what all they use but it’s the best!
