I was recommended to go there by a friend. There were some people sitting down and a few people in line so I figured it must be good. I was really craving Juan Pollo but I didn’t feel like driving to Santa Ana. The first thing I noticed was the prices seemed a little high. The service was prompt and the atmosphere was good. When I got home and opened my eight piece combo that cost $30.the chicken was really dry. Flavor was good just really dry. The refried beans were just a cup of salt!! my wife took one bite and couldn’t take another. The potato salad was OK but it seemed really bottled. It did not taste homemade . The potatoes were kinda rubbery.

I love this place! Food is great and very reasonable pricing. Walked in and you can see the chicken sizzling on an open grill. I couldn’t resist and ordered the 3 piece chicken plate that comes with tortilla, salsa and a few sides (rice and beans). The food is fresh, tasty, full of flavor, amazing! They also offer a few different brands of beer and Horchata, Jamaica, and all different sodas. The cashier and all the inside personnel were very welcoming, friendly, helpful, and quick.

I’ve posed by, but today got our food delivered by DoorDash, and it was delicious. This is a restaurant that we will be adding to our rotation. 6 was delicious, so I can’t wait to come eat here for lunch. sorry no , smelled do good. We went straight to devouring our meal.

I got the chicken burrito and the pastor burrito along with a side of the frijoles charos. This place is brand new, super clean, the hosts are very friendly and accommodating. What I really loved is that even before I got into the restaurant, I could smell the fresh grill smells from outside. And then when you go inside you can see that the meats are being grilled fresh to order on this gigantic charcoal grill. The chicken came out very tender and well seasoned. All the ingredients tasted fresh and I don’t think they were using lard, because I didn’t feel so heavy afterwards, unlike some other greasier establishments. All in all I would go here again. Skip pollo loco, because this place is LEGIT.

I prefer Norteño over Loco but will not be returning to the lake Forest location. I was there on a Friday night at 6:30 pm and the dinning area was already closed. Who closes a restaurant at 6:30 pm! This is very close to bank hours not the food service industry. This guys are in the wrong business. Btw, the carnitas tortas are the best around, too bad they stop service early on a weekend night.
