The food was good, and the drinks were even better. There’s isn’t any other reason to be in the area, but it creates an isolated personalized style meal. There’s more I wanted to try on the menu, but I would wait to come with a bigger group to get a better scope on the cuisine.

I went to this restaurant as a last minute trip, I had never been to this establishment before. I have heard good things about this restaurant and I wanted to try it out. I always like to sit down and eat and not get it to go but I had places to go. My lady friend had the carne asada chimichanga, my bro had the carne asada burrito and I had the pastor burrito. I loved my burrito and my friends liked their food also. Since I was getting it to go I was not able to use the restrooms but I will next time. They have a nice patio area and a full bar. The employees were courteous and quick to help.

My friend and I had dinner there last night for the first time. The first burrito I had was good but it had sour cream and I asked for none. They brought me another chicken burrito without sour cream. I only ate about 1/3 of it, thank goodness. A couple of hours later I got very sick. I got food poisoning.

In years past El Portal has been a favorite of mine (and other Mexican food lovers in my circles) for well done in-depth Mexican specialties. In the post lockdown world they have now ascended to specializing in a seafood oriented Mexican menu, and from what I’ve seen the place can be packed in the evenings!
