Stopped here during a road trip. Food was great, service was great and meals arrived fast. The chips and salsa were very good. Chips were nice and crisp and the salsa had good flavor with the right amount of kick. I ordered a smothered chicken burrito. Yum! Very large and they use chicken breast, not thighs. Which is something you don’t see very often. My friends all were very satisfied with their meals too.

My all time favorite restaurant, this place will NOT disappoint. Great location, great vibe and amazing authentic food. The staff is great, and I’ve been coming here since I was a child and never once had a bad experience. If you’re thinking about trying please do! Any reviews before 1-2022 are irrelevant because in Jan., El Portal came under new ownership. THIS PLACE IS TOP NOTCH, the best in town, amazing, incredible!!! The salsa, the beers, the crispy tacos, the burritos, the service- it doesn’t get better than this! If you guys want to open another location in the Holiday Shopping Center on Combie Road- i promise to come there at least 3-4 times a week and so will my friends! Thats how much I love El Portal.
