Amazing food. Stop by on the way through this summer. Fresh sopapillas. Great burritos and great chili!

My family and I are doing the whole Route 66 road trip! We were looking for some real authentic Mexican food, but they were all closed around us. We were just coming back from the Bandera Volcano and Ice Cave when we came across El Ranchero Cafe. After reading the very many good reviews about this place we decided to give it a try. We were all greatly surprised when we got our food. It was exactly what we were looking for! It’s definitely a place worth stopping for!

My colleagues and I stopped in for some chips and salsa, and three drinks before a work meeting. The bill was $29.00. This was at 11:30am. After, we were told chips and salsa were complimentary after 12pm. Great staff, people, and food, but chips, salsa, and drinks are priced much too high in my opinion.

I entered this restaurant today with my Mom and my service dog. We were greeted by a young woman who told us to wait and she will be right with us. She went behind the double doors and a man came out and told us that due to one of his employee’s being allergic to dogs, we were not allowed to bring my service dog into the restaurant.

This is definitely a much better restaurant than most in the area. If you like Mexican food that is (mostly) Mexican, this is a great spot. I say “mostly” because they also use ground beef in their tacos, but then again, most places do around here. Their sopapillas are amazing though! I will be going again for sure.

Came though on route 66 and was looking for a place to eat and the reviews were very good so we tried it and was not disappointed. Great place to go have lunch. Would come here again.

My wife and I just happened to jumped off the interstate to grab a quick dinner before getting home to Los Lunas. Great food, great friendly service, and very inexpensive. We will probably be going back to Milan, 2 1/2 hour round trip, just to eat at the El Ranchero Cafe. Thank you everyone at El Ranchero Cafe for the amazing experience

This place was off the chain! The blue corn chicken enchiladas with the green chili sauce was so delicious. The homemade sopapillas were the best I have ever had. I really enjoyed this little family owned businesses.
