El Rey consistently serves the absolute best Oaxacan fare the Hudson Valley has to offer! Visited multiple times at this point to try everything on the menu and reviewed now to say that you won’t be disappointed by any of it. Abby is kind and attentive, and her parents prepare comida that will take you to the heart of Oaxaca. Amazing!!! We haven’t even finished our dinner but I needed to tell everyone this place is so good!!!! Decently priced, huge portions (enough for a few meals for me), but most importantly- it tastes so so good!!! I got enchiladas verdes and my husband got the nachos. Both are to die for! The rice and beans here are also some of the best I’ve ever had! Go now!

The food here is incredible. I got elote, enchiladas, and fried plantains. My best friend got the flautas. I grew up in Texas so my standards for Mexican food are very high and this might be the best Mexican food I’ve ever had in my life. I live 2 hours away and I already can’t wait to go back.

This place is the best! From the moment you walk in you are treated to excellent service! Abby is friendly, attentive, and willing to answer questions. THE BEST!! El Rey is the best Mexican food in town, probably the whole Poughkeepsie area! The food is delicious. Their rice and beans are SO GOOD. After trying the other Mexican restaurants in town, I will only be buying from El Rey! The flautas are amazing!
