This was our first visit to the El Rio Mexican grill restaurant and it was very good from the time we walked in being courteously greeted & seated, to receiving our appetizers, making our selections for lunch with a great server. We will definitely go back again sometime.

Used to love coming here, we would order multiple times a month since it’s not far away from our apartment complex and the food is good. Now we have stopped ordering all together. Sadly, it’s not due to the quality of the food but due to the massive overnight price increase. I used to get a 12.99 dish and now that same dish is over $16! My husband always ordered a $13 meal that is now $20! I understand that the cost of food is increasing and I expect to see the prices rise, but not by $3-$7 per item, that’s just outrageous! Used to be able to order two meals and an appetizer for under $40, now the same order is pushing $60. I used to recommend this place whenever anyone asked me about a good Mexican restaurant, now I tell everyone to go somewhere else.

I used to love this place, but it has gone way dow hill lately. Food and drinks have been wrong every time we have been there recently. The waiter Franklin does not seem to understand english which makes getting the correct food or drinks really hard. The quality of the food has gone down hill too. Then they print on the front of the menu that they have increased the menu pricing by 15% and then charge even more than that. Obviously they cannot do math. $12.75 plus 15% is not $16.95. Overall I would just go to another one of the many mexican restaurants around.

Absolutely horrible. Got take out…it was under cooked and soaking WET. It was like they forgot to drain the oil after frying the hamburger and just plopped it in the container. Paid $5 for dip, they gave me 2 tablespoons, I kid you not and the salsa was only half a container. What a joke. Don’t waste your time, not worth it.

Don’t remember food being so spicy. Short staff took a while to order and get food. Only one person when I was leaving spoke English. Who he said all food is spicy. This was not like this in the past. Waiter didn’t understand English to well. I have been here a lot in the past. Food was not all spicy, service was better. Hope it will get better.

Went to the new location on 220 beside the Sheetz on 5/5 and asked how much 3 tacos would be and if I could have a takeout menu. Well, they don’t have takeout menus, their in house menus do not have prices and the 3 servers sitting in the booth took at least 5 minutes to finally tell me that 3 basic tacos would be $12 + tax after playing around on the register for awhile. Horrible impression and definitely will never go back.

I always enjoy coming here. El Rio is one of the few places in the area that has decent margaritas. In my mind this is one of the true measures when rating Mexican restaurants.
