We ordered the Mexican burger, quesadilla caliente, queso dip, and a strawberry margarita. The drink was made from bright red syrup and ice and I could not detect any alcohol whatsoever in it. The burger is listed on the menu as coming with pepper jack cheese, onions, jalapeños, and avocado (the main reason I chose it), but sadly there was no avocado and it had yellow American cheese, not pepper jack. The $6 queso dip was a very small portion for the price. To top off my disappointment, when I presented my $5 off coupon, the owner/manager guy declined it, stating it was not valid on Friday or Saturday, even though it did not say that on the coupon itself, nor on the Franklin County High School baseball sheet of local coupons it came from. This was my 3rd visit to this restaurant and there has been at least one mistake of the menu not matching the food delivered each time.

The place was clean, everybody we met there was very nice and polite. Our waiter spoke mostly Spanish but he understood our English very well. Our food was prepared quickly and I have to say the food was delicious. That’s the first time I saw the whole bunch of us clean our plates and we left there full tummy and very satisfied. This place used to have delicious food. I got a taco salad last night and the taco shell has changed to a regular tortilla chip. I was not pleased at all. I paid $16 for a taco salad that was worth $3. I wouldn’t mind the $16 if it had been good

My food was fine. My wife ordered the mahi tacos and they were soggy. My daughter’s food was okay, but quite spicy. My daughter’s boyfriend had a hamburger and he wasn’t able to eat it. The burger was “off.” Not sure if it was old, tainted or what. The service was top notch though. Anyone who can keep MY glass filled is super attentive!

I ordered a taco salad and live only a 1/2 mile away. The chicken must have been refrigerated from the night before. The chicken was cold and very chewy. I tried microwaving to no avail. I also asked for no tomatoes and they placed extra. I asked for sour cream, they placed guacamole. This is not the 1st time this has happened, but it will be the last.

Fresh food is the highlight here. Everything tasted so fresh and properly seasoned. All the dishes were beautifully served. From the Arroz Con Pollo to the Volcano, the Fajitas and the Nachos Texana along with the dips and salsa bar…everything was fresh, tasted great, and looked amazing. We’ve dined in several times and gotten food to go and the quality is there. I highly recommend El Rio in Henry.

Been here twice and loved to see the smiles on people’s faces and conversations between the locals and staff! The only downfall was the service, they just needed more help, but considering they did amazing. Second time I went they had more help and service improved. The steady thing was the house margaritas and they were amazing!
