The Best Mexican Food in the area. The green sauce is a secret recipe that will keep you coming back for more. Tacos are the best around. I make special stops on my way south from Chicago to get these tacos. THE BEST!!!! When I was at school at Eastern Illinois, I used to make a trip at least once a week to get these tacos. The owners are the nicest people!

Cheap. So cheap. Tasty too. It’s a real small place, so groups larger than 4-5 people are gonna have a bad time sitting together.

Recommended by the locals and they were right! Excellent tacos – all four kinds. Very authentic, fresh and hot with fresh cilantro. Verde sauce for dipping was fresh and tasty. Will definitely return next time through town.

I want to leave a 5 star review, because when I found this place I loved it. Tacos are amazing, the green sauce is even better. But the last time we went my wife used the bathroom and there were cockroaches all over. Now she won’t go back.

Always excellent food – particularly the al pastor – for years. Most authentic Mexican restaurant that I’ve found in our area. Try it. You won’t be disappointed. Do remember they don’t take credit or debit cards – check or cash only! Yummy!

Fantastic home-cooked Mexican food in a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Nice owners. Best known for their soft shell carnitas tacos. Nothing fancy, but everything on the small menu is tasty. Only a few tables inside, so El Taco Tako is strictly take out. Can be a long line on weekends, so you might want to phone in and order ahead. No beer or wine, only pop. A taco truck without the truck.

The real deal. They have several sauces, all of which are vey good. The enchiladas were tasty and so were the tacos. Be forewarned they have limited seating. 10 would be a full house but most just get their food to go.
