I visited this place twice and had a bad experience both times I revisited only because the food was good enough for another try. First visit hair on the menu ordered a margarita and it was some type of plastic inside of my ice I didn’t complain because the food was good. The staff customer service is trash the waitress‘s can barely speak English. And the supervisor or manager seems as if he had an attitude just terrible customer service I still paid tipped and left. Second visit I was seated table was dirty I moved to another table which was dirty as well the same man was mad because I moved he threw the menu on the table lol (only if he knew) I thought I hope the dishes are clean! food was alright shrimp tasted a bit raw and I didn’t really care for the birra tacos they tasted weird. but the customer service will throw anyone appetite off. I just don’t like the place and don’t recommend at all it’s better cleaner places in stl then to deal with unnecessary BS!

I used to go to El Tapatio’s all the time for Mexican food. I went there today and the food was not good unfortunately. Instead of giving you the two large chicken tamales, they cut one in half to make two. It was really really dry and the chicken was extra dry. It will be a while if ever that I go to the restaurant again. Thank you for the opportunity to give my feedback.

I dont really for the life of me know what it would take to get the employees if this place to listen to AND FOLLOW very simple instructions. During the past Six Months alone I have ordered the Exact same To-Go order totaling around 20 dollars…Queso dip, chips and salsa and TWO hard shell crispy supreme beef tacos. On every visit I explain to the person to PLEASE WRAP EACH TACO SEPERATELY BECAUSE THEY ARE FOR TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE. EVERY time with only one or two exceptions in Six Months the tacos come wrapped together in One Piece of Foil. This causes me the inconvenience of having to seperate them and get foil on my own or some other wrapping to get them wrapped seperately! It may not seem like a big deal but I tip every time (three dollars) tonight on a TO-GO order and I am hoping the Owner or Manager sees this because I would like to know what it would take for your employees to Listen to and FOLLOW instructions! I’ve spoken to the personnell here about this and it does no good! I have been a loyal customer up till now but the continued complete disregard for my request infuriates me! I AM A REGU I AR REPEAT CUSTOMER AND I EVEN TIP ON TO-GO ORDERS. Why should I even have to aak? Why do yoy ASSUME both tacos are for one person anyway? You cause me aggrivation and extra work JUST TO SAVE ONE SMALL PIECE OF FOIL and I wanted ro express how incompetent and non-attentive your employees are to a good and repeat customer’s very simple and easy request and I am disgusted to conrinue to be unappreciated by EL TAPATIO!!

The flavor is amazing, the portion size was questionable. This place will nickel and dime you. The picture is the combination fajita plate. I already loaded up my chicken but for ~ $16, that’s literally all the meat you get. Two tacos worth and an over abundance of peppers. They did give me more after I refused extra and vocalized that I would not be returning. I appreciate that they gave me more without charging me but I do not want to battle them every time I go so I will not be returning. I have never received such a small amount of meat for fajitas at any other place anywhere, and I absolutely love to try new places. There didn’t appear to be that great of a language barrier, but I also asked for no beans and extra rice with every meal we ordered (3 meals), they somehow charged me for 4 sides of rice and still gave me the beans after I repeated myself multiple times. Just not an easy place to eat at. Flavor yes, worth the price no.
