My husband and I decided to have an intimate wedding, and chose “El Techo” to have our reception. We were looking for something with a fun atmosphere; all our guests were out-of-towners so it was imperative for us to choose a place that would give them a great Philadelphia experience. Without any hesitation, I can say that “El Techo” is THE best rooftop bar in the city. Not only you get some breathtaking views of the city, the food and drinks are to die for! The tacos are very authentic, and the sauces are delicious! The menu is very accesible and simple, providing great shareable options as well as tasty cocktails. What takes the cake for us is the service; everyone is so attentive and efficient; you won’t experience long wait times for a com ever age or your food. The staff is also very kind and very patient. “El Techo” is very popular and often crowded, so I was highly impressed with the way the staff handles the large crowds with care.

El Techo = delicious food. Despite a slightly confusing menu, the quality of their dishes does not disappoint. The atmosphere creates an ambiance that enhances your dining experience.

Hit this rooftop spot up for a happy hour and it’s a nice spot for a drink and some tacos. I had a Bistec and Shrimp taco with some nachos and everything was on point. The spicy margarita was very good….the roof was closed because of the wind, but I’ll be back once the weather warms up a little more and the roof is open. The music was poppin’ as well….High Recommendation!!!!

Situated above Condesa, El Techo is an awesome experience for small plates and cocktails. While certainly pricey, we had a great time hanging with friends after work on a bustling Wednesday. Seating is first come first serve, and plates/drinks are brought after ordering through a QR code. Everything was tasty and strong, with no complaints from myself or my group. Would absolutely come back for a chill, fun evening.

Random find in town. I enjoyed the food very much. We had ceviche and different types of tacos. They both were very good. Drinks were nice as well. In the summer months, it looks like the top ceiling could be opened and turn into a roof deck. I can’t wait to check it out then. For now, a good cozy spot for quick bites and drinks.

Overpriced drinks. They lie about the price of drinks on the menu. Menu says $7 for sierra Nevada IPA but it’s really $8.50. They did the same for a $7 Modelo draft (menu price), it was really $8.50. I don’t know if this is a tactic for the bartenders to ger larger tips, if so that is dirty business. Also one of their bartenders took our orders but decided it was a good idea to have us wait 10 minutes and take additional orders from others before serving our orders first. We literally just ordered two cans of beer btw. Not like it was some fancy drink that takes time to make. Overall it’s a nice atmosphere but their one bartender could use some serious training on how to work the room. And they need to stop lying about their prices. It’s false advertising and misleading!!! Day I went was Tues, Aug 22 at around 5-8pm just in case the manager would like to know who was working that shift.

Food was decent, drinks were ok, nothing was earth-shattering. But I could not give more stars because it was so difficult to get to! At every turn! If you’re there for Sunday brunch, first of all, Google maps says the place is closed. There is no phone number. Door is locked. Because Condesa is on the first floor, I looked them up (also closed, but at least they had a phone number associated) and called. Because they were closed as well, I never did talk to a person, but eventually, the automated message says to go into the hotel on 19th (motto) and enter that way. BUT, there’s no one there to tell you how to get to the restaurant, if you just wander into an elevator, it won’t move for you. We HAPPENED upon a member of the cleaning staff of the hotel who let us up. How do you have no signage? No phone number?? Nothing to direct you to the place??? I’m gonna show my age here but service was lazy. They show you the qr code to order but did not explicitly say “we will not be coming back to your table to take your order, do it yourself.” So I had no idea we HAD to use the qr code to order. It worked fine, that’s not the point; why can’t you take orders at the table?? The place was not busy at all. What’s the point of service?? A little too cutting edge for me. Oh! Also! They had a freaking DJ! For brunch!! But no sign downstairs to direct you to the restaurant! And no table service! But there’s a DJ…

Cute rooftop for a nice taco and a cocktail or two! The tacos were very tasty —my fav was the Cochinita Pibil but literally all of them were good. I tried both the Águila cocktail and the mezcal margarita and I liked both but the Águila was extraordinarily tasty. Bartender was also very nice and attentive!

The food comes out pretty fast, and it is so tasty! The ceviche tasted super fresh and the guacamole is amazing. The views are just alright but I really like the open air concept.
