We’ve been coming to El Tepeyac for years, and even sat outside many times during the pandemic when they set up a makeshift dining room as many restaurants did. It’s located in a pretty dead & dated strip mall, but it seems to add even more to the appeal of the restaurant. The music is cheerful & authentic, the food is delicious every time, and the staff are very friendly. If you are looking for fast service however, this is not the place. Service is very slow & many times you have to wait several minutes to be acknowledged in order to be seated. Service isn’t slow each time, it’s hit and miss depending on who is working. We are patient people so it doesn’t particularly bother me. Today we had to get up and ask for the check and a box after about 15 minutes because our waitress was busy with other tables. She did apologize and said she had forgotten about us. Very friendly staff! We love supporting local, so we continue to return. I always order the same thing because I don’t know how to venture out but everything we get is always fantastic. Today I had the enchiladas verdes combo plate, hubby had the carnitas & guac burrito, and the kiddos had some burritos & quesadillas.

This has been one of my favorite Mexican restaurants forever. Great service and great food. Their salsa is the best in the Inland Empire. I highly recommend the carne asada plate I have pictured in this review. They have grilled scallions and a large pepper on the plate. They have authentic rice and beans but the asada steals the show.

This was by far my best food experience here. The homemade salsa had a great heat to it. I decided to try something different tonight, I ordered the Tampiqueña. I was not disappointed. The presentation was amazing and the taste was OUTSTANDING! And as always, the staff is over the top friendly.

Food is great IF you can’t wait 45min to an hour sitting at a table eating salsa out of the bowl with your spoon because that’s all you will get if your server didn’t forget to hand the cook your ticket like they did to us Saturday at noon. Ended up leaving and going to Jose’s Mexican food down street much more professional cheaper and FAST! We were all eating within 10 minutes Jose’s saved the day

We have been here 5 times since a friend recommended we try this restaurant a few months ago. The food and service have been excellent everytime. The authentic food is freshly made. The staff has always been very attentive and kind, especially the waitress Eddie. If you love great Mexican food you have to try it.

Golden Prophecy
Use to come here all the time, the service has slowly been going downhill. I decided to go and try it again… the waitress didn’t know the menu she kept coming back asking what we ordered and being rude each time she was back. She finally “put the order in” and she never came back after she said the soup was about to come out and after waiting for almost an hour and them starting to clean up and still ignoring us we left. She could’ve came an checked on us or something! We only got our drinks and she messed that up, we felt bad leaving but we couldn’t keep waiting on something that was probably never gonna come out

Certain items were not available when requested such as the horchata however, the customer service was great. Our waiter was very attentive and the food was delicious. Went to the restaurant with my family of 4 and ordered enchiladas, been and rice burrito, and steak. Not many vegetarian/ vegan options.
