It has been over 10 years since I’ve eaten at El Torero and I have to say that it was outstanding! I had the 2×2 plate with 2 Beef Patty Tacos and 2 Flat Enchiladas. The Tacos tasted homemade and they don’t skimp on the hamburger. The flat enchiladas were soft with a little crunch on the outside and the red chili sauce wasn’t too overpowering and just the right amount of green olives. I went with the Family and tasted their dishes and it was all TASTY!! One thing I have to add is that we called in a half hour before they closed and they said “no problem will keep the kitchen open for you”, and when we got the staff and ownership were all welcoming! Great Service! Highly Recommend:))

Food was okay. Portion sizes were huge. I was disappointed in my tamale and wouldn’t order it again. Too much masa..it was also white which was a bit odd since it’s usually a bit reddish from the sauce. The taco was okay and the beans were excellent. Food was nice and hot

Seriously a must do in Tucson. I love this family owned gem in a somewhat weird part of town. Don’t let the local scenery stop you, the food here is SO good. Traditional dishes plus Mexican fusion stuff that blew my mind. Lots of vegetarian options too. Don’t second guess a stop. Also, the agua frescas are delightful!

The best place to pick up tamales! Would rate 4.5 but do t have that option. And while you’re there, enjoy a true Mexican meal. We had the Chile relleno and burrito enchilada style. Next time it will be the cheese crisp! Looked amazing! El Torero features a full bar too!

El Torero does not need my five star review because El Torero’s food speaks for itself. Frankly, I could try to describe the food, ambience, the delicate arts of culinary fusion, the How Did They Do That innovation, and the paradises of flavors that will make you feel like you have rediscovered the Garden of Eden and it is here, perfection, in each bite. I could try to describe it in detail…. but really you have to eat here to truly understand how good it is. Get the veggie tamale pie, get some vegan tacos, or a meat dish, or get all of it. I have never ordered anything I didn’t love. I suspect you too will find the food here can’t go wrong. This is the best restaurant in Tucson and I would go to the mat over that.

Visited this restaurant and loved it. The salsa has oregano in it which I loved – they even brought out a hotter one for us and it didn’t disappoint. Believe it or not I got the fries cauliflower tacos and they were incredible. 10/10 would return.

This is one of those restaurants that is sort of tucked away but when you go in it’s packed. And for good reason!! The food here is AMAZING. They even have a vegetarian / vegan menu. Everything is so thoughtfully made. Can’t wait to go back
