For the BEST Caldo De Res in Salinas hands down El Zacatecano on Alisal St is thus far thee best! This place has been in business for 50+ years. It’s small even with an added room so you might have to wait depending on the time of day. We went around 8pm there was 2 open tables.

Great little spot in Salinas. Was driving by and just decided to stop by. Place is small and older but sometimes those are the best and it didnt dissapoint. I got a combination plate with a sope and enchilada with rice and beans. The food was very fresh and tasted homey. Owner is nice and friendly. I got a michelada and that was delicious as well. Average prices and definitely worth it. If im ever in the area ill definitely be going back!

Beautiful, basic, delicious. Not too fancy, just good home made Mexican food. Chile Verde was said to be one of the best by some tough critics at the table. No one disliked anything they got. Even pleased my son (who doesn’t like Mexican food), with some bacon and eggs.
