Our family was spending the night in the area and this was the recommended family restaurant in the area. I’m so happy that we went!!! We were greeted right away and all the staff was amazing with our young and energetic boys. Our server Amber really made an impression and was simply amazing!! Food was delicious and had the best salad bar I’ve been to in years! Will definitely be back if the opportunity arises in the future!

We were going through this town and looking for a place to eat with our two boys that wasn’t a bar-like atmosphere. We found Elk & Hound on google search. It was a Monday evening and I was thankful they were open as many places in the area were closed. We arrived in the nick of time, as a storm was rolling in and all the golfers were coming to eat as well (it is a golf course restaurant). The waitstaff were all running to keep up with the rush of people. They checked on us often and apologized for us having to wait, although you could tell that they were extremely busy. We were able to get a table quickly, the salad bar was phenomenal and despite having a the max capacity at the bar and restaurant, the salad bar was constantly tending to and full. The spring mix was fresh, soups were tasteful and unique, and the side salads were delicious! I could have filled up on just the salad bar! We got our food and it was all hot and plentiful! My son, a 9 year old picky eater, said it was the best burger he’s ever had! My husband and I both got a different baked white fish recipe and they were great! I will definitely be back when I go through town again. The customer service was top notch. The atmosphere was really kind of cool quirky with some unique fireplaces and the dining hall was welcoming. Thanks for a great experience!

I took my wife, daughter, & her boyfriend here for an early dinner. We had cheese curds that were excellent, and I had their ribeye, as did my daughter. Her boyfriend had the Poormans, and my wife had the shrimp dish. I was initially brought French fries instead of the garlic parm potatoe bites, though our waitress fixed that on her own. My wife had the same side, but no garlic parm. Everything was quite good, though, and if you’re used to Texas Roadhouse, the pricing is similar, but the food way better. The only thing I would change is that the wait staff be dressed a little more upscale.

We ended up at the Elk & Hound after finding out there was a long wait at another restaurant we had planned on going to initially. We are so glad we had dinner here instead! Our server, Charlie, was amazing! Super friendly, attentive, and a delight to chat with. We both had the prime rib special, which was delicious and came with the soup and salad bar; so lots of food. At the end of dinner the chef came out with a surprise of freshly made cotton candy! Yum!!! Seriously, when has that ever happened?! Our entrees and one Vodka cranberry came to $58!!! Unbelievable prices, first class service, and amazing food! We’ll definitely be back! Thank you to the wonderful staff here for making our night!!

Took a long time for order to be taken (40 minutes) got food almost 2 hours to get to us after being seated. Luckily, we had nothing else to do and no where to be.

Whitefish with crab was good. Walleye cheeks a bit dry. Garlic potatoes looked bad but tasted yummy. Soup and salad bar pretty standard although tasty stroganoff soup ran out early. Service very good. Dining room, away from bar was pretty quiet and pleasant. No stupid music to shout over.

Absolutely amazing place! Unassuming decor but the service and food were on par with the best I’ve ever had. Not only were our meals exceptional but we received a delightful amuse-bouche and a glazed bread that had us attempting to reverse engineer it layer by layer. (I must have it again!) Throughout the meal it was evident that the chef really has a passion for food and your experience. We absolutely will return whenever we are in town. All in all a hole in one!!

Based on the pictures and being located on a golf course, this seems like an upscale restaurant. It is not. The interior is very mismatched and the staff are not trained for upscale environments. I was not entirely disappointed with our service, but we came over dressed so that felt awkward, and the bar tender thought we would like to have a conversation about a concert he went to while we were eating because he didn’t have other customers. Great food. Small menu. Nice staff. But not the experience we were looking for that night.
