I highly recommend a reservation, there’s nowhere to wait, because people will reserve places at the bar . We went here to celebrate my birthday ! The restaurant is great! Exposed brick walls, tum ceilings, soft lighting but you can still see the menu lol

Our experience was wonderful. My partner and I both got the Crispy Pork Belly and it may have been one of the best meals I have ever had. We got the New Potatoes as a side and they were so perfectly cooked they tasted like mashed potatoes. Lastly, we got the Toffee Pudding and it was exactly how Toffee Pudding should taste in my opinion. Tie that together with very good service and kind workers, and you have yourself a wonderful dining experience!

Went here with the wife late last week before the PMJ show at the Cabot. It was pretty crowded…we sat at the bar…I ordered Coke and she ordered something fruity. The bartender was Johnny on the Spot with the drinks.

Oh man, I first went to Ellis Square pre-pandemic and it was phenomenal. Told my friends & brought my family. Everyone loved it and was thrilled to have such a high quality option (FINALLY) on the north shore. Fast forward a few years and I was overjoyed to find that ESq made it through the pandemic, and popped in with my partner for dinner. It was just excellent. We sat at the bar and had a wonderful conversation with our tender, and the food was just as good, if not better than it had been when I’d visited in 2019. It was so good that I brought my parents there for dinner again a few days later and they agreed that everything was top notch. I ‘d had the crispy pork belly with gnocchi on my first return trip, and on the second had the ricotta gnudi. I was also fortunate enough to get to sample the steak frites, seared scallops, polenta and steak tartare; everything was delicious. So, so so happy to have such a high-caliber establishment in our neighborhood and very excited to become a regular.

Had a great experience tonight. Without reservations we were still able to catch seats at the window. Cocktails were on point. We had an espresso martini and an old fashioned. Perfection! We shared a multigrain salad, flat bread and short ribs. Each were flavorful and plentiful.

Locals of Beverly here – we’ve been to Ellis a bunch. Always a great experience. Fantastic food, high quality. Arancini is awesome. Fresh oysters, steak tartare, chicken breast, and flat iron steak are all delicious. Even their simple salad is seasoned perfectly. They also have great craft cocktails with FRESH ingredients! Not pre-made. It’s our favorite date night spot. Quality customer service is always appreciated as well!

My friends and I tried this place for one of our regular re connect dinners. The space is very cozy and pleasant. We loved the exposed brick interiors and the soft lighting. The service was courteous and prompt. It’s a limited menu which is always my preference in restaurants, but I still spotted options for varied dietary needs once you read the ingredients. We tried the spice duck breast on a bed of orzo, mushrooms and Brussels sprouts. It was delicious! Duck cooked to perfection and the whole dish packed with flavor. My friend really enjoyed the bouillabaisse. I didn’t try it but it looked fantastic. For dessert we shared the chocolate crème brûlée. It was good, I personally prefer the traditional but seeing innovation is alway refreshing. For a final touch, I tried the little Giuseppe cocktail and Oh My! that was absolutely delicious. I recommend giving this spot a try! We did not regret it!

An excellent meal on all levels. The bread homemade and is just extraordinary. Would go back just for that! The potato croquettes, the burger, the mussels — all wonderful. We went all out trying so many things and each fantastic. Even the cocktail was incredible. And the bartender, Brandon, was a delight. Only complaint at all: it is unacceptable to serve frozen fries. This has become a restaurant trend over the last few years and it’s just not okay, especially as prices have increased. Other than that, I wholeheartedly tell you to go and eat here immediately.

I love Ellis square and it was great to sit at the bar. The cocktails were delicious and the bartender even made one special for me. The duck confit appetizer was DELICIOUS! we didn’t have enough room to finish our entrees but they were also very good. I had the house made fettuccine and my husband had the burger. I’m picky about burgers and I tried his, and it was very good!
