I had a visit to Elotes in the early afternoon, and it was surprisingly quiet. The woman working there was incredibly nice and patient as we perused the extensive menu, which offered a delightful fusion of Mexican and Thai dishes.

When we arrived, there was only one person working the kitchen and the check out counter, but she was VERY quick, polite, and attentive. We got the egg rolls, which were packed full of flavor. The Tai Tea, which was delicious and MASSIVE! My friend ordered the beef quesadilla, which was delicious, crispy and had a slight spice kick to it. And I ordered the chicken fried rice, needed a little more salt but was very flavorful. There was such a mountain of fried rice on the plate that I couldn’t finish and had to take the rest home. The environment was very peaceful, although it was quite warm (I’m hot natured to begin with), but over all a very good dining experience.

Me and my GF walked in around 630pm on a Sunday for the first time. There was one lady working the counter and cooking by herself. There was one big family that was sitting down and waiting on their order. Then us and a big family with alot of children behind us. After she took my order, she went back in the kitchen to cook. The wait was long. The big family with kids ended up asking for a refund and got tired of waiting. While waiting for our food, the employees son was running around the place unsupervised. He would push around a cart bumping into tables and chairs while barefooted. Then he would start ringing the bell on the counter none stop for about a minute. Then my GF watched her son climb the storage rack near the bathrooms. The employee was definitely not paying any attention to her son the entire time during our visit. One last con, during our time there, the phone was constantly ringing and not answered as she was cooking and missing out on orders.

I forgot to take pictures but I’ll be back!! The most authentic Thai food I’ve had (besides the food I had in Bangkok) the absolute best pad Thai in the Lubbock area….yep I said it! My daughter got the chicken noodle soup which was delicious and sour and Herby! Perfect Thai flavors! We didn’t try the elote or tacos but like I said we will be back! If you want a taste of real Thai that isn’t too Americanized then this is the spot!!

This is a laid-back place with a great atmosphere and awesome food. For an appetizer, we had beef nachos and the beef seasoning was outstanding. Mains were 2 tacos + sides. The tacos were unique and had plenty of meat, and the elote had awesome flavor. We didn’t save room for tres leches but wish we had.

Tried the Pad Thai and it was surprisingly good! Was spicier than expected but totally worth it. Wasn’t sure what to expect with Mexican/Thai combo, but their tacos looked really good too!

Ohmygosh if I’m not eating my sisters food, or mom’s. This is definitely a place to be at! Plus they have corn in a cup or grilled corn.
