My husband and I went to this coffee shop when we first moved to Big Lake. I immediately fell in love! They have tasty food, and the coffee is amazing. They make their own syrups too, which is nice. One thing I like is that they have about 6 new drinks each season -3x coffee drinks, 3x non-coffee drinks. Those are always fun to try. They also have a pay it forward wall that I think is great. Ember’s baristas are always so friendly and welcoming. I’ve made some friends just by being a regular. The staff truly cares about the customers and the quality of their items. Y’all. We love love Ember. Our 3 year old has food allergies, and is often left out of fun, but not at Ember. They have 7, I repeat, 7 flavors of non-dairy ice cream (including Blue Moon), AND gluten free cones AND epic sprinkles.

So the first thing I noticed was the overwhelmingly welcoming vibe the employees gave me right when I walked into the coffee shop. The place is beautifully decorated with a lot of different options to choose from on their menu. I asked the barista to give me her favorite menu on the item, and she did not disappoint! Absolutely delicious and one of the best croissants I have had in mn. The coffee had these cute little strawberries on top and was so yummy! I had a nice seating area next to the window and got to enjoy my coffee with some good company. 10/10 recommend this place❤️

Ember Coffee has ruined other coffee places for me. I honestly didn’t know coffee could taste this good. I always see a line at the caribou next door, and I feel like telling those people to stop waiting in line and go here. The people here are great, but the coffee is what keeps me coming back. Also, the breakfast food is surprisingly good. It’s not like the stuff you get from Caribou or Starbucks.

This is my favorite place in Big Lake to hang out. They have Chocolate Shoppe Icecream which is super-premium icecream with a high butter content-YUM! Everything I’ve tried has been amazing. You have to try their Affogatto! I think it’s awesome and unique that they make some of their own syrups from scratch, where else does that?! They also make their baked goodies in-house!! The people who work there are always super friendly. What a great edition for the Big Lake Community, and it is a “must stop” location if you are passing through on Highway 10 to go up north. I can see why they won Star Tribune’s Best Coffee and Best Coffeehouse in Minnesota 2023 titles.

This coffee shop is such an amazing addition to Big Lake! The space Matt and Elisa designed is warm, extremely welcoming and creative. I tried their signature drink The Humboldt (which is the city of Big Lake’s original name), it was by far one of the best cups of coffee I have ever had. The coffee is sooo smooth and it was the perfect balance of sweet and robust. I also tried the chocolate croissant which was so flaky and buttery, I can’t wait to try the other bakery items as well!

This is my favorite coffee shop. This is the only place that will get my order right every time. The employees are also very sweet, I’ve never had an issue with them. It’s always very clean and has plenty of space to sit. They also have a playroom for kids which is great. I love to come with my 5 month old and she can play while I enjoy my coffee.

Wonderful first visit to this family owned and operated establishment. Excellent coffee selections, enjoyed a hot sandwich and finished with an almond croissant. All of it delicious. Great ice cream options we’ll try next visit. Really appreciate the personal and friendly service!
