Add this to your list of Detroit-style pizza places to check out in Louisville. It’s in an old warehouse so the ceilings are high and the space is comfortable. Lots of light and a nice outside spot to eat. It’s known for the pizza, and I recommend you try it. They have several standard options, or you can make your own. Fast and friendly service.

Man, the pizza is pretty darn expensive but soooo good! In Pittsburgh, there is only one Detroit-style pie place and since I loved it, I ordered from Emmy Squared while out in Louisville. It’s definitely worth it if you don’t mind spending a bit more money. I tried the classic pizza with pepperoni and the Angel pizza.

The restaurant was empty when we came in at 5pm, and staff were sitting around. We started to wonder if they were closed and checked the hours. It took a few minutes for anyone to notice we were waiting to be seated.

We came and got seated at the bar pretty quickly, and that’s the only thing that was quick. It took over an hour for us to get our food, and at that point, we were pretty tired of waiting. The bartender was pretty friendly, and we witnessed him working non-stop the whole hour or so. He was polite and apologized for the delay in our food. The pizza wasn’t too bad, but I felt like the center piece was a bit under cooked.

Wow! We were so surprised when we got our pizzas! The gluten free pizza was not expected for it to be that good since most gluten free pizzas are thin and sloppy but the one we had was thick and perfect you can’t even tell it’s gluten free!!! My husband got a gluten free pizza and I had a regular hand tossed one and the thickness of both servings are the same. 🙂

Made reservations for 2 (highly recommend) and was sat at a very small table (when making your reservations request a booth!). Waitress came right over and took our order. There was a hiccup in the kitchen and it took a while for the food but everything came out right and hot. Great vibe and good pies!
