When we come up to Rochester to visit this is our go-to for trash plates! The couple that runs it are so friendly. The piled high plate never disappoints! Their hot sauce is spot-on for delicious covering on our cheeseburger plate with Mac salad & home fries. Even the side of bread was yummy. Oh and they have Loganberry! That made the trip for me – my favorite Buffalo area soda!! We can’t wait for our next visit to the area to enjoy another plate!

Although lots of local hots restaurants are great, this one here at Empire is the best around. Their hot sauce has the best flavor & always good to eat it fresh there on the spot. Friendly staff as well. Highly recommended.

Order was completely wrong. When ordering online there was a choice of 1 to 3 items to be added to plate. I picked all 3 items but only 2 were fulfilled. Owner tried to explain only 2 items are added and apparently he has the choice to pick. Instead of making the order right he argued about it. Online does not state what owner tried to explain. Not my issue, but his. The owner didn’t even try and make the order right. So back to NICKS! The drive is apparently worth it.

Empire Hots has always been my go to place for a cheeseburger plate. Great portions and the food is always ready within a few minutes. The prices have continued to rise, which is to be expected, but seem to be getting a little expensive for my liking.

I grew up in Webster but moved away about 20 years ago. Whenever I’m in the Rochester area I try to stop back in for a plate at this favorite old haunt of mine. Many folks will say there are better plates out there and I’m sure that’s true, but this place is a properly preserved piece of adolescent nostalgia and is still proper comfort food (and I imagine still proper drunk food, though I’m a bit old for that routine now). First time visiting here. The service was great and very friendly as they walked me through their options. The seating was very clean, well lit, and even has something playing on the screen. The kitchen looked very busy (you can see directly in it) while we were visiting. It appears this place is busy and that was a sign of their quality dishes. The menu had lots of great options and I settled on a trash plate with chicken, cheeseburger, over a double order of fries. I’m not a Mac salad fan and was bummed they didn’t have Mac and cheese as an option. Overall, it was a great visit and I recommend you give it a try. The clean facilities and clean kitchen assured me this is a “safe” place to eat. My only gripe was the seating area, it made it difficult to converse without being inches away from another table. I give it 4+ stars, especially if your ordering for takeout.
