#empiretacos, Mulvane, KS. I was at a conference being held at the #KansasStar casino and wanted some tacos. Did a quick Google search and this place popped up.

Had the smothered chicken enchiladas with rice n beans. Pretty good. Green salsa is pretty good with small kick in spice. Bloody Mary was pretty good. Pretty good portion size. Will return when head down south.

We love to go on Sunday for the buffet. Make the tacos exactly how you want them. So delicious Honestly, the dessert is not our taste but the tacos and sides are perfect. Hands fried taco shells make it perfect. Usually we have to wait a bit for a table because it’s that good.

First timers for the Sunday Lunch Buffet. We were pleased to find all the ingredients to make our favorite Mexican plates. The staff was friendly and kept good care of us. We will definitely be back.

Food was really tasty, as well as a cool aesthetic inside. Only slight problem I had was with my takeout order. Both my husband and I were missing side items that came with our meal. Perhaps this is petty, but I requested extra cilantro on the side for my meal. I got charged $1 for a small condiment cup half filled with cilantro.

1st let me say 4 stars is basically a 5 for me. I rarely give a 5, they’re saved for places that charge an arm or leg & if they deliver the goods they might get a 5. That being said this place was a pleasant surprise. It’s been a few days since we were in so I can’t remember our servers name. I believe she might’ve also been tending bar, was a petite , pretty , dark haired lady. She was very kind, helpful with our menu (it was our 1st visit) & she was attentive during our visit. The food was authentic & absolutely scrumptious. I’ve been to a lot of restaurants & this was some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. It’s been 50years since I’ve had decent (excellent) authentic Mexican food. If you haven’t tried this place I’d recommend it, yes it’ll take an extra 10 minute drive but I feel it’s worth it. Great food & service.. going to drag more friends (new customers) out there real soon. I forgot to mention it was clean & the decore was nice too. If they don’t have a restaurant in Wichita yet they might think about starting one, it would do well.

Wow, what a great restaurant! Our waitress (dark haired lady with glasses, I wish we had gotten her name!) was friendly, fun and fast. She brought our drinks immediately, asked what type of salsa we wanted, and she even gave us complimentary strawberry sopapillas! That type of service alone is reason enough to go back again .

Taco bar with tamales and great desserts. Queso Blanco was…Blanco. Salsa was good but you had to get your own salsa from the taco bar after chips are served upon first sitting down, which meant that if theres a line at the Taco Bar then you (not your server) has to cut in front of everyone just to get salsa for your chips. They won’t let you order from the menu because in their words “we have all hands on deck for the taco bar”, so why can’t the servers bring salsa with the chips as they have no other menu customers? Their soup offerings were in the back of the buffet so you have to reach across other food to get it. Our appetites diminished when we saw how many sleeveless shirted – armpit haired guys, were reaching in across other food that we wanted. Put the soups in front with lids so that anyone reaching in won’t be doing so across an open food line. The servers were all kind, patient, friendly, happy and well trained. 4 stars for that, and because with all other factors aside, the food was quite good overall.

Ordered the Empire Super Platter and the El Lorenzo Burrito. Everything was amazing. The house beans “not so refried beans” were delicious. I can’t wait to make it back here. Everything exceeded our expectations. Thank you for being in business!

Went there today just to try some place new, for $15 I got a “chimichanga” filled with steak and beans, which turned out to just be a grilled burrito. It came with a small bowl of rice and beans, the refried beans were soupy and the rice had little flavor, no vegetables mixed in, it was only rice. My server was very attentive to me, a bit too much honestly. Within 15 minutes she came to my table 3 times when my mug was still nowhere near empty and I had no reason to need anything, maybe I’m just used to other restaurants where the server only visits you when it’s obvious you need something. Overall, everything was cooked perfectly. There were a couple chewy bits of steak but besides the high price and the bang to buck ratio, that was the only thing that bothered me. Dont think I’ll be visiting again because why pay extra when I can drive a couple miles to derby and get better everything for less.
