I had been visiting Empress Garden for years. I stopped going because of the distance from where I lived. I visited recently and ordered sweet and sour chicken, which I asked for light soy sauce on the rice and was told that if I wanted new rice cooked, I would have to “order shrimp fried rice. (spend extra money for quality -better prepared food – I’m guessing ) “I asked for no MSG and was told, “well, it’s in the food, and it’s already prepared. “I received the food, drove 45 minutes away, opened the food, and it was old. The rice was grainy and had been mixed with other rice. There were three pieces of a whole – undercooked shrimp on top. The egg rolls were tasteless, and the customer service was frustrating. The chicken and garlic sauce was well cooked. The vegetables were very fresh, and you could tell the plate was hot off the grill. I am not a ‘Chinese Food’ eater, so this was a pleasant experience. Update: Shrimp and Garlic Sauce taste much better. Shrimp is clean, large, and juicy. Food is usually fresh and hot. Update as of March 2023: AS of late, the food here has really been hit or miss. They have given me some distasteful food the last two times (see pic $20 for this!) currently taking a break. Be careful with food….there may be different chefs/cooks, but not going back for a while it upset my stomach. Absolutely HIT OR MISS type of place!

So impressed by this hidden gem. Had an absolutely amazing meal here. All the dishes we tried were perfectly prepared and had a delicate balance of flavor that added a unique twist on classic Chinese-American cuisine. Squid apps, salt shrimp, steak and Singapore noodles were all delicious. Will be thinking about this meal until I have a chance to come back again!

Giving 3 stars because of past experiences which have been good. Today I ordered almond boneless chicken. Nothing fancy. I asked in the online order for hot mustard, and no plum sauce. They got that correct. What they didn’t get correct is I received no gravy with my order.

I ordered a sweet and sour chicken combination meal with shrimp fried rice. They said that was a five dollar upgrade over the white rice. I also ordered with that mix vegetables a pint size order $29. I did not know my wife was paying these prices, I would just pick it up until today I pay for it myself something I thought I’d pay around $20 for I will not go there again if the prices are so high, there are other options.

Terrible customer service. My daughter had brush bristles in her rice and my shrimp were super hard. Also I called and spoke with Michelle she told me she was putting in the book for free meal replacements due to inconvenience. I went for the replacement meal and was treated very poorly was told I just trying to get free food and not to EVER come back to there restaurant. I was told they will never serve me again. The lady then hung up the phone. My friends and family started going to restaurant for years because of me. NEVER go to restaurant was told don’t want my business!!!!!!!!

We ordered beef with brocolli, shrimp chow mein (pancit/noodle), pork fried rice and wonton soup, and paid only 51$. There’s 3 of us and We only ate half of each dish and brought home the other half, except for the soup.

ZERO STARS. I ordered the shrimp fried rice and it gave me bad food poisoning. I was violently ill, and I suspect it’s due to the shrimp being undercooked and the rice tasted old. Called the restaurant to report what happened and the manager never followed up and no one made an effort to resolve the situation. It’s sad because me and my family have been eating here for years. We supported them through the pandemic and gave them a lot of our business, but no more. They’ve gone WAAAAY downhill. Never going back here and you shouldn’t either unless you want to puke your head off.
